Wiring up FoC

I recently got my new Shock with Quick Disconnects, but no FoC for the LED module.
As I had a spare LED module, with FoC, I went to swap them over, but found that there was no plug for the FoC connector.
My spare LED module had come with an extra cable to connect to the saber, presumably for this reason.

Does anyone have any experience with wiring up the FoC from the sound board?
I'm an electronics engineer, so soldering, etc. is no issue.
Are there any issues people have run into with doing this?

I figured it wasn't a difficult thing.
Do I need to solder it on?
I've had problems with soldering near ICs before, and don't want to burn the guts out of the soundboard.
Any specific hints, or is it really as simple and idiot-proof as it sounds?

This is true. All Obsidians are FoC compatible. The extra money for the FoC really goes towards the upgraded 10W LEDEngin.

If you solder a wire to the pin and add the female red JST connector to the other end of the wire, you can ideed add FoC yourself. Use the black wire on the JST, not the red!
