What annoyed me most, when I worked at the grocery store, was the next day after the snow. Even when it was pretty bad, people would show up for the silliest things. The same people who would be in the store tearing it down the night before, would then proceed to drive in dangerous conditions to get artichoke heart and a bottle of KY Jelly.

True. And when Katrina came, I believe some states even imposed rationing of gas along with price controls.
That said, if you end up with a New Orleans style breakdown of law and order, all bets are off on stuff like that. As the saying goes, any society is within three meals of anarchy. (It may be something like three days, in modern times.) Hence my thought that I should be able to shelter in place for at least a few weeks before having to venture out.
I don't remember what they did about the gas, but they were charging TEN DOLLARS for a bag of ice here. That got shut down SUPER fast. Katrina actually knocked my power out for 2 days, but then Gustav came through and my power was out for two weeks for one very simple reason. A rather small tree branch was laying on a line (it hadn't snapped it) and they came out, pulled it off, and TA DA. Lights. It was rather irritating. I was super sick of tuna by then.  |

I miss the IFC channel that used to have good stuff on there. Before they started showing commercials, before they had their slew of crappy shows, back when IFC still stood for independent film channel. Every time I see a commercial for Maron, or Portlandia, I roll my my ever so slightly. Every night, it seems like That 70s Show is on. Decent show, but come on now!

Glad you liked it. It was silly, but REALLY well-produced silly. I love how not only did they get the lyrics, costumes, and dance moves right--they didn't just completely copy Uptown Funk. The brass section has actually incorporated the Harry Potter theme, but in a way that fits the spirit of Uptown Funk! |
