So I and my roommate have made this a regular weekly activity except this time, we got it on video, and he used a staff. Which im impressed, because I had to teach him some basics with a single bladed saber and it is what i am most fluent with, so you would think the staff would not come so easy, but he liked the extra blade for attack and defense!

Pt.II we were using a loose point system, he was getting tired (the full size AEON V3 staff with heavy blades is heavy)

I think you will like this, we did a slow mo battle. hard to see us, but you can track the blades and see certain portions of us as we go at it.

I like a lot.  First time ive ever seen a staff in action like that, looks majorly imposing!  Has anyone come close to breaking a finger?  I don't see any hand protection, and based on the dueling I do with my six yr old I can't imagine the pain with two big guys fighting Smiley

Point for the cool dueling vids.

No, no broke fingers! I always offer hand protection though. The staff is a true test of one's defense in the hands of a capable wielder. My friend and I duel so much that we have worked out a lot of the ways to avoid damage to the hand, knuckles and fingers. I taught him about the target zones of lightsaber combat and we base much of our duels in that way.

Now it is a totally different story when going against what I call a "Baseball bat duelist" where the attacks are often repeated horizantal slashes meant to take your head or arms off(which is mostly where these strikes are trying to land) -such as with the red saber in the video below -due to a lack of skill in most cases; then the knuckles get a little bent out of shape, and it hurts:P. These battles were the first I had in a long time so I was still trying to figure some techniques out. This was about a year ago.

ignore the creepy narrator.

since then I have worked a lot on defensive strategies to counter the baseball bat duelist and strength oriented duelists in general,
