ive noticed while loading the battery into my saber that there are LEDs in the hilt that light up as the system wakes. is there any way to turn those on?

What are you going to achieve with lights inside the hilt?
Maybe you are saying some component on the outside is illuminating?
Which Saber haveth thee?
