I can't seem to find the link at the moment, but there is a post on here somewhere detailing the chronology of ultrasabers releases, and one of the early staffs offered was a curved hilt staff with a quick disconnect coupler. However, i believe this was in the days of pvc hilts, so that may have something to do with the lack of a quick disconnect coupler right now.
Other designs included a staff, although i think that was a one-off, and something called a great sword saber, although it was considerably less streamlined than the current flamberge.

1. Darksaber (flat sword shaped saber)
2. Shoto (small lighsaber like yodas and ashokas secondary saber)
3. Light club (opposite of shoto)
4. Light foil (like a rapier)
5. Guard shoto (like marris broods saber)
6. Double bladed curved saber that can split into two sabers (like the saber ventress wields)
Dark Saber blade in a contrivance. They should have just given it the Black blade look from FU, and had done with it. Honestly how can you shape light like that? Unfortunately, that hilt design is unlikely to be made by US. Cool though it may be, all of their sabers are based on parts that are turned on a lathe. The Dark Saber is pretty flat. But who knows? I assure you that your suggestion of a quick disconnect coupler has not gone unnoticed. If you browse through the old suggestions thread you will find many requests and posts about them. IIRC some of those posts may cover the engineering details in designing one.
I am currently working on a design concept to give to US for a Q-D coupler. Ooh, and I just had another idea. This is very possible, but may end up costing somewhere between $50-75 for one. The ease of manufacture (or lack thereof) will probably be the driving factor in price. |

Haven't seen this before, but if it's been said already I apologize. I would LOVE to see a mini/micro USB port to recharge the batteries and access the Obsidian Launcher... I was just looking for a way to easily plug it in and while charging from my computer modify sounds or the Emerald Driver. em/Sighs

Ambitious, but the boards can't even use the same interface ports. You have to plug into for sound, and another for Emerald. On the bright side, the launcher can instantly tell what port it's reading from. |

I wish the archon had a neck with M/F threading so I can add different emitters without making the saber look short.

I was looking at other saber sites to see if there was anything ultrasabers does not have that other sites do and some of the things I found where options for white or black colours for the blade, a weathered version for the hilt and also on saber forge a lightwhip option (don't know how they do it as I did not order it) note that I only visited other sites to find things ultrasabers could do to improve. So my suggestions are 1. Lightwhip 2. White colour blades 3. Black colour blades 4. Weathered option for hilts 5. The inquistors lightsaber  |

I would absolutely love to see US come out with a hilt very similar to Darth Sidious lightsaber. I have the MR collectors hilt in my collection and this thing feels sweet in the hands, would be great for a one handed dueler. The only problem with making this would be the size of the hilt. This hilt maybe too small for US and the obsidian card to fit in side......But I second the vote on an "Emperor" styled lightsaber.
