So, before we get the "darker" and "more accurate" rebooted version, let's look back at Del Toro's original movie and see just how different/similar it was to Mike Mignola's original comic books.

As I said when the new trailer dropped, I know this new movie is supposed to be a reboot, but there are some aspects that make it look like a natural continuation of Del Toro's version (which it's not), especially given how much D. Harbour looks and sounds like Perlman in the make-up.

I think this is a situation where two actors are able to accurately capture a character...one just did it first.
