It's the feeling and smile at 1:17 that's the reason that we keep doing this and keep on practicing I believe.

Thank you both and yeah, when I completed that body roll with a rotation behind the neck without a flaw I got really excited for a second. sidenote the huge blade is now four inches(12 cm) shorter and my life is oh so much better.

Don't be to hard on yourself Bob, it looks great. Nice clean lines, spins look fluent, face looks serious, and the first practiceruns after a long time are always hard. If you want to see real sloppiness I might share a ropedart spinsession of mine. Started ropedarting to keep me busy with something new during the lockdown. Point for sharing and spinning!

Thanks, TCCW. I have absolutely no idea what you mean by "face looks serious". That's my happy face. I'd love to see you do a rope dart session sometime. Sloppy or not. +1

Sloppy or not. +1 Well here it is, less then an hour ago in my garden. It's sloppy, full of mistakes, I probably have a serious face as well, but it was alot of fun.

That was awesome TCCW! I'm not all that familiar with the rope dart but that looked pretty smooth to me. You gotta work on your serious face though. I caught you smiling at 0:42. Thank you Master Resolute. I can't tell you what an inspiration you are. A compliment from you means the world to me. Props to Finlay as well. That body roll you did in your last video was off the hook, and as others have said, your reaction was priceless. Thanks again to everyone that contributes to this thread. Everyone here inspires me in their own unique way. I only hope I can add to that to some small degree.

This changes everything. I was looking through a few pages of this topic and I watched some of te videos and wow. I did’t know people did this kin of stuff for real. I was just planning to get a lightsaber to look at and waive around for cosplay but now I want to do this.

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen, they are much appreciated. Only just starting out with the ropedart. Call it a pandemic-lockdown-thingie. But it's great fun. Like I said it helps me focus on having a growth mindset, and there are some real nice lines to draw to handling other weapons and the use of your body. So it's a great tool for learning. And for Bob, a great and wise men once told me: "Difficult face makes difficult Tai Chi, smiling face makes smiling Tai Chi" (true story) So I try to smile more often while practicing, although my face automatically hits the serious facial expression. @Mike, head over to the tutorial thread Or all of our Youtube-channels for some inspiration. Master Resolute has some real good stuff for you to start with.

Yawn. Another excellent video from Matt! As much as I try, I just can’t quite get the transitions down as nicely as some of you guys have. I’ve got the individual moves down pretty good like reverse grip, left and right had competence, etc. Just gotta tie it together better. I love the strikes and blocks too. Flow arts look better to me with some of that mixed in since it looks more like actual saber fighting instead of just twirling around at the same speed.
