Saber Forum

For those who are new or unfamiliar, here's a list of our friendly and hardworking crew of Mods here on Saberforum.  If you have any issues, from the most mundane to the extremely urgent, please reach out to any of us for assistance.  Our job is to keep tabs on the forum, making sure everything is organized and easily accessible, as well as ensuring that all members are completely comfortable here.  We are responsible for enforcing the rules as well, but since this is typically a well behaved place, that part is pretty easy ;)

Obviously this is me, Nero Attoru!  I've been on this forum for quite a few years now, being a Mod since about 2011, so I've had the pleasure of watching Ultrasabers and the associated community here grow.  I've seen some crazy things on here, and had a lot of fun in the process.  I consider myself pretty easygoing, so I hope everyone feels welcome to shoot me a PM with any questions or concerns.

Very nice! I took a look at some of the Sigs on here and I discovered Rapine's is made up of 48 layers, that's a lotta hard work gone into that!

As I say I'll load up GIMP (freeware Photoshop clone) and see what I can knock up. Cheers.

My sigs are nothing special, just the result of me goofing around with some basic apps and software.  I typically use the Werble app, then do some editing after the fact to remove the watermark and tweak a few things.  Glad to provide them though!

I am trying to get the hang of this.

Which topic would I post to in order to ask about modifying an non-Ultra Sabers lightsaber?  I have a Spartan Sabers Tier 3 Hero that I would love to modify to have the "Sunrider's Destiny" LED. I love that teal color.

We really cannot show any competitors hilts here though.  It's UltraSabers' house.  ;)

I'd say that perhaps after the install, if you were to make a video or take pics that focused solely on the LED, and didn't show off the hilt at all, you might get away with it in the "Customization" section.

Hi all.  As of today I will no longer be one of your Moderators.  It's a Mary Poppins thing... and the wind has significantly shifted so it's time to direct my attention elsewhere.

I wish Threadjack, Samhaim138 and Infinit01 all the best and many ongoing years of enjoying the ups and downs of monitoring this forum... which many still fondly refer to as " our home away from home ".  Please keep it that way... neat, clean, warm, inviting and even when appropriate... a safe haven for refuge and support from one's personal storms.  Also encourage this Forum to be a place for learning and sharing one's knowledge and experiences... especially about lightsabers and Star Wars which is the common bond that has initially brought the membership together.  :)

Thank you Alex/Ultra, Jarrod/Master Nero and Drahcir for initially giving me this unique opportunity and Kham for your patience and direction as I quickly learned about my duties during a very busy time on the forum.  :D

Warmest best wishes to everyone... see you on the forum as I still have one last saber customization to eventually finish.  I'm really going to miss the post editing beyond one hour Modify feature that the Moderators have access to lol.  ;D

I see that you posted this same question in a few places.  I get it - you just want an answer.   Please don't do that though.  It really derails the conversations. 

Rather, look for the appropriate topic, and odds are there's already a thread for that. ;)  Otherwise there's a forum search function too (third icon top left - magnifying glass).

You can certainly create a new thread as well, if you don't see that topic anywhere else (in the proper area please), or just ask a mod. ;)

On a sidenote, this probably ain't the right thread for this question, so don't be alarmed if a moderator moves this. ;)

Now to your question:
You can have (almost) any picture you want as an avatar. You just need to have it uploaded somewhere on the internet. (Alot of people use imgur atm)
Then you just copy the entire url of the picture.
Go to your profile settings and paste the url in the "I've got my own pic"-writing-thingie
Remove the s form https:// and you should be having a new avatar.

This is a group of UltraSabers customers and fans, not a way to reach UltraSabers customer service.  Nobody here works for UltraSabers.  We can give advice, but we can’t provide specific information about your order because we don’t have access to any of that information.

ORDINARILY, you would probably have your saber in your hand already, because their turnaround time was typically 1-2 weeks.  Lots of us old-timers have that as our default experience with UltraSabers.  HOWEVER... in early December of last year, thanks to all the fan excitement surrounding the last Star Wars movie, a new Star Wars TV show that apparently should have been titled “Baby Yoda” instead, the release of a new Star Wars video game, the Christmas gift-giving season, and a winter sales promotion, they began to have so many orders that they fell behind.  In January, there started to be issues with parts and components, because of the COVID-19 issues in China, where some of the electronic parts are manufactured, and they fell a little more behind.  In February, the fallout from COVID-19 started to have effects here in the United States, and some of their more-local parts suppliers fell behind, not just the ones in China.  As time progressed, and as social-distancing measures needed to be put into effect in the workplace (causing more than the usual scheduling issues of getting the right technician, the right saber, the right parts, and the right tools all at the right workstation at the right time, multiplied across the multiple suppliers used), the backlog continued.  On May 25, they lost all their emails prior to that date, and that has caused its own issues.  They have staff working 24x7 trying to catch up from the backlog, and some progress is being made, but they are nowhere near back to normal yet.

Their overall delivery times have slipped quite a bit; although some folks still get their sabers in a week or two, some sabers take three or four weeks, and some take eight weeks or longer.  Note that the orders are NOT worked in a First-In-First-Out queue order; there are too many dependencies on various parts, technician skill sets, machine/workstation availability, and Lord-only-knows what else for that to be even close to efficient.  There have been entire books— heck, entire college courses— written on efficient manufacturing-process scheduling, so there’s no way I can give a full explanation here; just know that it’s very complicated.

The response times on the customer service emails have slipped quite a bit, too.  All I can say is to keep sending POLITE emails to [email protected] with your order number in the subject line, but I wouldn’t send an email every day; that will just clog up the Inbox and make it harder to find the emails that need an answer other than “Yes, we have your order, and it’s in the processing queue, but I can’t tell you when it will ship, because we are waiting on <fill_in_the_blank>.”  There’s nothing wrong with wanting an update, because you have sent them your money; just understand that right now, getting an update, or your saber, is going to take longer than normal, and longer than any of us would like.
