Hello! I'm Emmy. I like star wars and other non star wars typed things. I am a nerd, I know, it's shocking. I'm so glad you're sitting! You weren't!? Ohmygosh! And I like anime wayyyy too much. I joined the forums because I saw all these really really cool custom build things and I'm totally game to try and learn more about what I can do with ultrasabers! I only have one little dinky one an initiate, and it's not even the super cool color changy one. But... well... I like it so much, because it's mine, You know, if that makes sense. I am looking to get good at these lightsabers and try to plan on buying and building some new ones, and I'm soooo excited to use them in super cool cosplay and things when I am able! Anywho. Welcome to the forums from Portlandia!  The initiate's a great one to customize, and there's tons of customization info here.  Also, pretty much everyone is really friendly and helpful, and the mods are awesome.  There's also a bunch of sections about costuming,  saber combat / choreography, fan fiction, an RP section, so check 'em out 'cos it sounds like a lot of that is up your alley.    Feel free to ask questions, too!  Also, pretty much everyone here loves saber pics, we all love to see what people have, or when they do customizing, or order new ones..  so we wanna see your saber(s)! :D

Thank you! Hey my folks are down in P-Town too! And yeah I really like customizing the initiate. My 3d printer decided it reeeealllly wants to hold onto some PLA and it's stopping my progress on building a little extendo thingy on the pommel. But when it's all done I will totally put up pictures!

Also I have way too many questions. So I will try and temper them down to the worthwhile ones and make posts when I have the mental capacity : P

Thank you both, yes I am searching and looking through things (Using the search, weird, I know). I found one piece of info I was looking for already (Utilizing the MHS parts and such) but on the hunt for a few others. I'll keep looking around and yes, I'll be sure to post once I got something worthwhile to chat about!

Welcome! Avatars need to be 200x130, I believe, or some variation on that scale.

 The Initiates are great sabers to start with. I think most of us have at least one of them if not more. I like the Initiate V3 the best of the 3 versions.
What color is the blade on your saber? If you don't mind me asking.

Thank you James. I did some digging and looks like the Avatars are a bit of a in-crowd cabal thing. With size limitations being specific to a moderator loading them. Sooo. Instead of getting frustrated with all this resizing I've been attempting this afternoon I'll wait to see if maybe someday I'm cool enough.

IT Concerns aside, thank you thank you to all! To answer your question MavRick, I had to go for the Sunrider's Destiny. Most of everything I own is in a vibrant violet, teal, or mint green. Still fishing for a perfect anime beamsabre sound though. Surprised I've not run into a gundam soundfont yet! Might have to learn how to make them later.

DarthScrub makes awesome avatars, there's a thread somewhere about that..  and I do avatars too - I did my Rose Tico one.  I'm sure either one of us could probably help you out. :)

Which, now that work's over I finally got a chance to take a picture of my ultrasaber!!! Feets for scale??? I did the sanding thing to make those little bands after lurking and watching some people make cool scoring, I wanted to try my hand at it, turned ok pretty ok, but im sure I can do more!!

Welcome. The Initiate is a great hilt. And nice weathering. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
