Hey there!

I have a 1m Acrylic Rod, which is crystal clear.. it fits my sabre like a glove, it's obviously a little heavy, but I wondered if I'd be able to just sand it down to get the diffusion going? Is that right? Not sure if it's worth ruining though..

I also had an idea of doing a kind of Lightsaber Wrist shield.. straps to the wrist and used more in defense in a battle situation..

Wadda ya reckon? What could I do with this piece of kit!?  Would love to hear from you!

You're sound a little British there. You could make some pretty sweet blade plugs, if you like knurled the cut surfaces to difuse the light. Just a thought. Good luck with the shield. They did something like that in an older Gundam series. I think it was Victory, they had 'Beam shields'. I took a little inspiration from Darth Talon, and opted for bracers made of "phrik". I'm thinking I might try a re-write of the character to have them be antique beskar (Mandalorian Iron, fyi)

Not familiar with Essex specifically. But using Metric and the phrase "piece of kit" started telling on you. I'd say that's pretty good for a Yankee.
