So I have been searching around locally trying to locate a place that I could do some night shooting. Almost every where I am at is private property or closed after sunset / parks etc. I have always been too afraid to try a park after hours so I gave it a shot at the duck pond park down the street. I parked outside and walked in shortly after I had my camera set up the security / park ranger guy came by and asked what I was doing. I activated my Bellicose and he ended up swinging it around for a few minutes. Told me I am not causing any damage and said go on do whatever you are doing just try not to go past 10 (it was  So, I did some swinging light saber patterns. Shot f.11 25 seconds / 15 seconds / 30 seconds and a few shots at f.9 ISO was 100 on all shots. Love the photos, awesome saber work too! I need to figure out how to extend the exposure on my camera, and find my old tri pod. I have a big open field next to my place, I could play around out there. Have a point!

What a fantastic idea! I love long exposure shots at night and playing with light. When mine comes in I'll definitely be stealing this idea. Great photos! Point awarded

There are ways to hack non slr cameras for long exposures just have to look it up

So after seeing Kresnik's pics and after being bored all day because of the rain I figured I would take some tonight once it stopped raining. Phantom V3 LE Int. Staff with one blade orange and other purple:  Duel wield, with Guardian in DVA and Bellicose in BH:  Phantom V3 LE Int. Staff one blade yellow and second purple:  Guardian DVA  Single wield Shock Grab Bag in Arctic Blue:  Phantom V3 LE Int. Staff with both blades an off purple color:  The flash of Red you see in some of the staff pics is the red FoC going off as I switch hands. I have not changed any of the sensitivity settings on them yet. |

I'm thinking of blasting my f stop to like f.22 and seeing if I can get a longer exposure and maybe try some actual light painting

The first two pics were actually in the last session I did using my better full frame DSLR camera and better lens. The others were taken with a camera with smaller sensor and ok lens. I stayed around f11 for most of them.
They turned out pretty well for just playing around with it for the first time.
That first staff one I paused with more slashing and strikes, other than just spinning.
