I just received my mystery box with sound. Will post video later. In the meantime. I have a micro sub port near li-ion batteries. Is the for recharging or?

That is for changing the sound fonts and adjusting the Obsidian sound board settings.  It is mini-USB not micro, a minor technicality that will make a difference if purchasing a cord from other than US. It does not charge the batteries so unless you have a recharge port on the back of the saber and plugged in you should ensure the batteries are well charged prior to connecting the saber.

No, it is not for charging.  That is where you connect your saber to a computer.  Using the Ultrasabers editing program will allow you to change the sounds on your saber.
