I got into sabers with my first US MB I bought 10 months ago at a Con. Since then have bought 7 (3 for the kids), won 1, and traded for one. All US sabers. By thanks mostly to the good people of this forum I wanted more, I wanted to make my very own fun too to bottom.
So with parts from US and TCSS I decided to go on a little adventure and created what I think is a great saber.
I'll start at the bottom and work my way up.
The pommel I order plan but it came coated in black, no problem I used did some weathering on it.
The next section is a gear section, I ordered this part in Black Winkle.
The next section I came up with a pattern and transfered it to the part using P&P Blue and etched it using Copper Sulfate. Also this is the section with my activation box that includes my AV switch and recharge port.
Next is the grenade section. I took off the neck and painted it antique brass then weathered it with black paint. The grenade section I used Aluminum Black on.
The emitter I used Aluminum Black inside if it, the outside I laid out a design using pin strip and also etched it the and time as the hilt section.
All of that was the easy work. I now had to do the electrics. I will say you must have good solder and flux to make this job a lot easier. I didn't at first and had to go back after I finished everything and fix some of my soldering after getting the right stuff.
Before are pictures of my work in progress and the finished saber. It has sound and a Tri Cree LED, two red LEDs for the main color and a white LED for FOC.
