A quick how to on how to make your saber's really shine.

What you need...

~Lightsaber
~2 rags
~Car polish that is used for taking out scratches and scuffs; make sure it doesn't have ANY WAX or silicone, this will make your saber impossible to hold after polishing

My Libby, two rags and my polish

I used 3M, you can use any brand just make sure its a polishing compound with no wax or silicone. If it makes it slippery then don't use it.

1. Wash your hands before this and get rid of all the oil and soap off your hands.

2. Take your saber and remove the blade you don't need it getting in your way.

3. Use one of the rags as a cover for your lap so you don't get polish on your new pants.

4. Fallow the directions on the back of your polish for applying it. LET IT DRY

5. Now that your saber looks all white and filmy take hold of your saber with the (hopefully smaller rag) and again fallowing the directions on your polish buff it out, till its clean of film.

6. Repeat for extra shinyness

Note: You will have to polish it again, becuase like jewelry it can become dull over time.

Before

After: 3 rounds of polish

Its like a mirror

*I'm not reasonable for you ruining a saber(or anything else). Either by use of wrong polish or flinging your saber due to using wax polish a cross the room; use this at your own risk.

That is awesome! I just might have to do this on my Bellicose, just as long as it doesn't do anything to the black anodizing on it. Point.

I was thinking about hitting the non-coated surfaces of my saber with this stuff. Great to get rid of the light tooling marks and give it a shine. Thanks for posting it up here!

@travisccook: Your most welcome.

@ NingaJesus: Thank you, I would test it out on a spot that you can cover up. But I don't think it will, you just need to make sure that you really get it clean or you'll have white spots and film all over your saber. It never hurts to give it a few extra goings over with a clean rag.

That's a standard Libby or a nickel plated one?

You could tape off the sections you don't want affected.. it might be interesting to try alternating the silver bands with polish or leaving it natural... hmm.. and you could always go back over with the polish if it doesn't look good.

You will have to re polish it if you want to keep it shiny. OR put a clear sealer on it. But remember the sealer is permanent.
