I'm a big fan of watches.
I added another old timepiece to my tiny collection today when this mesmerizing little wristwatch (Sekoda, USSR make from cca 1965) arrived by the post.
It's just fascinating to see how these tiny parts in a small case work together literally endlessly with great precision and I do appreciate the mastemind behind. Once in a while I read a few articles on the subject and today I found this video from 1949 explaining how a watch mechanism works. Funny thing is that the overall construction of a mechanical watch has not changed since then so the video material is still pretty much up to date.

New Drinking game. Every time he says "power"  take a shot.

But I used to work security at the repair shop for the Signet co here in Akron (the Co that owns Kay, Jareds, Zales, JB Robinson and Osterman). The Watch guy used show me the parts of the Rolex's he would work on"this spring her does this......and is $2K to replace. lol
