I would do all sorts of unspeakable things for an US quality as accurate as possible Sidious hilt (including that gorgeous color). That's probably my favorite out of all the Movie lightsabers next to Obi-Wan's TPM design.

They are probably the only two I would ever consider getting with all the bells and whistles.

Once I have working US Quinlan Vos and Aurra Sing 'sabres, I can declare my collection complete. Until then, I shall continue to hope.

For sure on a more proper looking Sidious saber. I'd get one. Or two :P The Emperor and Sith fonts would be perfect for either of them. Lets do Darth Sidious next but with a more deeper blade socket than the Monarch saber

I know its not a different saber and not sure if it is even possible but i would like to see them make the fake buttons the actual activation buttons instead of adding an extra button.

I have nothing against how they are now and love how they look but personally that is the only thing I think they could improve and I know it is only a tiny thing. Not sure what you guys think about it and if you agree or disagree would be good to hear your views on it as I'm new to the whole lightsaber thing and there is a wealth of knowledge in here.

Well . . . the issue there is that most of the decorative buttons are positioned at the top of the hilt, typically with the LED module right behind it inside . . . so that wouldn't work. The back of the switch needs to penetrate the chamber & there would be no room for the wiring.

So the reason they put the actual activation switch further down is simply that's where it needs to go . . .

with the way those prongs dip at the lower end and if its made with hard plastic (like the graflex) it might be comfortable

So much this!  As awesome as the Fulcrum and Lost Grey are, Ahsoka's new sabers are also epic.

The curves and colors would be a challenge to manufacture though.

I have seen a 3d printed Katana style chassis for just that style of hilt, but it would be a major change in production process going from round hilts to a squared hilt like that, not to mention the curvature...

I'd really like to see Satele Shan's lightsaber/double lightsaber. They could sell it as strictly a double, perhaps. Add something to that group that isn't just a copy of the singles?

Also, would really like to see a lightsaber with some wood accents on it. It'd be hella expensive, I'm sure, but... that'd be gorgeous.

To date anyway, all of the US lineup is made via machining an aluminum cylinder blank on a lathe.

You'll notice - every hilt is "round".

To do odd shapes like those would likely require casting 2 separate halves and putting them together.  Usually results in a seam down the middle and wouldn't be as durable and US' signature is "combat ready" sabers.

Never say never but they've shown no interest to date in completely changing their manufacturing process, especially to something that is likely to be less durable than their current lineup.

They could use a mill, then switch over to a lathe. That's likely what they do for pommels like the square Malice.

Dooku' s saber is it the top for me, but a Starkiller saber would be awesome. Even better if US could put a crystal unit in it.

Hmmm, that would make 3 starkiller hilts from US (considering the bellicose and the raven are starkiller's too), but yeah, the graflex inspired one is certainly the best. However, I think they could make an inspired one, but not one with a crystal chamber, since that would not make it duel-worthy, and US makes everything duel-worthy. An inspired one would be awesome though, (need a dooku first though XD).

If they can make the electronics smaller, or be clever, a smaller saber hilt would be nice as that would make for a Dooku inspired hilt to be more what it is suppose to be....a fencing style blade (with extras).  In theory they don't even really need the tiny curve at the emitter end, just the main curve at the pommel end, with the whole thing around as short at an Initiate hilt.

To be clever, maybe make the hilt straight and design a curved pommel that's on three inches long pasts the curve which goes right into the base of the hilt.  At that point you could attach it to any hilt, though it look best on a smaller hilt that having a jutting three inch piece hanging behind your Bane.

IF the saber tech gets to a point to where the Emerald boards are smaller and can fit into smaller hilts I would love to see (as some others have mentioned):

1) Dooku's curved hilt, or other curved hilt designs
2) Yoda's shoto saber
3) The Apprentice's saber - not the Raven (which is AWESOME, don't get me wrong), but his starting saber

Now...the OTHER things I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see US do:

4) Make more custom designs
5) Give me my Darth Revan saber.  Give give give.
6) Make more coupler designs - particularly some female-female, and female-male couplers, as well as different extender pieces

That is not a bad idea, would make for a pretty good approximation to Ventress' hilts. However, I believe they could already achieve this with the elbow of the mantis. I'm not a big fan though, because its too much of an angle rather than a curve, we need a curve XD. In fact, they could make a curved emitter just like you said (maybe with the scorpion claw just for that dooku look) and we could technically use the elbow of the mantis as the lower pommel section of dooku's saber. However, the only flaw is see with this is that the LED would not be aligned with the blade if the only curve is on the emitter and not the body... =( That would probably decrease the brightness of the blade by a significant amount. SO, we're back to thinking then...


oooh, Revan sabers are a MUST! Didn't think about them or Yoda's, but I don't know id I'd like Yoda's anyways, like Sidious'. I feel like Sidious and Yoda are characters that essentially don't need lightsabers, so I wouldn't be too keen on owning their sabers (except maybe Sidious' because of its shape and its emitter, so unique). And different coupling parts would be nice. Would certainly make for a new source of inspiration for saber modding!

If someone could put up a collection of pictures of a good verity of sabers that would be great for those of us like me who aren't as well up on the characters that aren't in the films because from what I have read there are some amazing sabers that don't appear in the films.

Yes to, well, all of these! Aside from what I see as my "personal sabers," I love seeing character hilts come to life--Ventress, Kanan, Dooku, Ezra, Revan, Sidious, Ahsoka's white sabers... Dreams come true
As for Yoda, I'm working on making that one for my son with some MHSV2 parts. 😉

Something else I'd like to see, though, is a ROTS/ANH Obi-Wan hilt! I know the Archon V3.1 is CLOSE, but I'm a stickler like that. 😅

How about a "design your own hilt" contest.  Let people submit drawings, or CAD models even (my son is in college for mechanical engineering) and have people vote on one?

The Bane is based on Darth Bane's hilt in the Dark horse comics, but Bane's hilt from the Book is a curved hilt...

I posted this as a contest but to make it easier since not everyone has access to CAD or might not have the time vote for a top 6 out of all the sabers that have been posted, then vote a winner from the 6 and all of us sign and submit it to emery. Itd be easier for them to take one of the canon lightsabers and make a hilt inspired by it

The new Emperor saber looks AMAZING.

I absolutely enjoy my Ultrasabers v3 Dark Initiate hilts, both the stunt saber and the version with lite sound (currently joined as a staff sharing sound).  I have had to look around the 'net at "the other guys'" sites to see some of the other options out there.  Things that I have seen on the 'net that Ultrasabers currently does not offer, but would be GREAT include;

Tinted (day) style and reactive blades
12mm AV switches
additional coupler styles
additional pikes, yari, extension styles
a 28" - 30" blade length option

Tinted and UV reactive blades absolutely intrigue me and would be a great addition to the US lineup, depending on trademarks and availability.  Actually, even keeping the current blade designs with different color blade film could give another awesome color mixing option beyond the color discs. 

A 12mm latching AV switch in the DIY electronics would be great for those who decide to upgrade from a guarded switch without wanting to risk damaging the hilt while extending the hole.

The vented, adjustable, flush coupler is great, but does interfere with the clean lines of my saber staff.  Another stylistic choice or two in couplers and pike extensions would be awesome. 

I personally find the 24" initiate blade to be a bit short, with the 32" blade being a bit overbearing for staff use; an in-between blade length (28 - 30") without having to custom order without blade film would be a huge advantage!

Those suggestions took some serious thought and research to even find!  Ultrasabers makes great sabers!

...and I now feel silly because I realize the thread was asking specifically about hilts, not about the accessories that I listed...

US makes such awesome hilts already though...!

Not exactly a hilt, but has anyone mentioned LE versions of the Yari pike extensions?  A black/silver and silver/gold version of the pikes would be a nice addition for those who have LE hilts!

Without question, the coolest and most coveted light saber not yet produced by UltraSabers would be the original saber wielded by Darth Revan.  This would be an instant hit... and must buy for all Star Wars enthusiasts.   

Revan and Kanan lightsabers are excellent suggestions that would definitely tempt me to purchase.

Yes,  I have decided Revan's last saber before his death in the Expanded Universe is the saber I want most from US most.

I'm also thinking not just a Revan saber, but I also think it would be great if they added a blaster blocker function to the saber in addition to the lockup feature.

A secondary aux button option would be great. Honestly I think a v5 board /Emerald 2 (combined?) board would be welcomed. There are so many improvements I'd love to see US do to make their amazing products even better.

TBH, something US could do since they are very into the "duelability" of their sabers would be the introduction of basic chassis. Not that the way they do it now is fragile by any means, but it'd open them up to A LOT of options.

A few hilts I'd love to see is a reverse Consular, Yoda's, and something... I dunno, "Rough", knurled-- Just out there and beautifully ugly.

Im having trouble thinking what more  a V5 soundboard or Emerald 2 could do lol. I would loveeeeee to have the emerald drive run on bluetooth so you can change the color through a sikple phone app, saw someones customization of that but Im not too savvy with electrical stuff.

well, someone else who shall not be named has done a katana type saber design, so while i would really like US to do one, it is not a completely original design

Whether its powder coated paint (wh8ch looks really cool) or anodized, from a business stand point for the first X amount of time it takes to gather data on what 3 colors sell the best, they can prefabricate a complete set of hilt parts in that color with a longer lead time for the other uncommonly bought colors and post a longer lead time for the colors that dont have as many prefabricate. You want a Red and Black Archon V3.1? Boom. You need Pink? Expect a longer lead time. Im sure there is many more steps to take to perfect this idea but I dont have the time, unless US wants to make me a work at home employee lmao

To name a few: On board color profile switching, more advanced pulse/flicker effects, multiple ignition/retraction sounds, an extra channel option for crossguards/AV switches, staggered ignition, and differentiation between hard/soft swings and clashes.

So going to Fan X and almost buying the curved Reaper it got me thinking. It's kilnd of cool that they reserve that saber only for conventions, but it got me thinking. What about us loyal customers? They should make a saber that is only offered to us. Say you make it to 500 posts you have the opportunity to purchase from then on a unique saber option that's only available to us. What do you guys think? Maybe there is a better idea, but something along those lines. It would be really cool I think.

Honestly, I like the idea. However, although I would consider myself a loyal customer, I have only (so far) bought one saber. I think they could play with that idea, but they'd have to find some way to make it even more exclusive. 500 posts really isn't that many. I do like the idea though.

Ya your right make it a 1000.  The majority of US buyers never make it to 500 points on saber forum. Those of us that do, help out their customers with questions all the time. Taegin your always pointing someone in the right direction. I think a little incentive would be cool. US doesn't owe us anything I just think it would sweet.

Maybe rather than put in all the NRE required for a new hilt (Hours & $) that would only be available to a pretty select few (which I don't see happening), maybe they could let us order "Frankensteins" . . . our choice of any Emitter, Body & Pommel combo we want from all their stock (not just the specific ones they sell separately in the DIY section).

That would be my vote.  :)

Im not a fan of the post related rewards. And I dodnt know they had convention exclusives...honestly everything should always be offered on the site. Its a saber company, not Hasbro making figures

The convention exclusives are really annoying for someone like me who lives in the deep european woods, like I hear they exist and they sound cool but the chance of me ever getting my hands on one are basically nonexistent.  :-\

While I understand the sentiment, there's literally only 1 Convention Special - the Curved Reaper - so let's not blow this out of proportion.

If my Ultra-History is correct, the Curved Reaper was originally a Prototype / Test for the eventual Mantis; it was never intended it to be a full Production Model.

Apparently they resurrected it as a fun thing for Conventions, but it's not like there's this entire Secret line of hilts only at Cons.

Oh I know, and as for me I wasnt trying to blow it out of proportion. I was just more expressing my hate on post repated rewards because Ive been a loyal customer for 8 or so years and I dont think posts on the forum should dictate an exclusive online and honestly theres no need to make exclusives. I'd definitely like an Obi Wan ANH/ROTS saber like the one I'm about to be working on. It'd be a fairly easy mod/paint job/emitter switch on the Arbiter.

My point really wasn't about posts it's about some of us have worked pretty hard getting some of our knowledge. Then after a 1000 points later after getting that knowledge either here or a lot of times research elsewhere. We just hand it out when someone askes. I just thought it would be cool to get some kind of a reward for participating and helping out rather than just lerking and taking everything. See where I'm coming from now? I now your not being offensive. Some of these guys have been here longer than I have and have done just what I'm saying.  Like our good friend JediXIX for example and many others.

While rewards for long running customers or people helping out on the forums is a cool idea I don't think making an exclusive selection of sabers would be a good one. First I feel like It'd add alot of extra work for US with a very small payout as they'd have to come up with a unique saber that would make the exclusive feel worth it but only sell those to a small segment of the community. Doesn't make much sense for them. Also I feel like it would alienate new customers or people who simply don't like posting in forums because they will see that cool hilt only to be told sorry that's part of our exclusive collection. Seems a little unfair...

I would love that too. Revan's red blade looks all too simple, yet beautiful. Some would suggest that the Shock is (veeery loosely) inspired by it. As for the purple blade, well, not sure how US' take on it will be as they tend to design their hilts from a very cylindrical base. On one hand, I understand that as their focus is more on making dueling sabers. On the other, I would like to see US produce more intricate hilts.

Yeah i dont know how the purple blade would handle dueling however, i also wasnt sure the emperors hand would work since it seemed so busy that itd be hard to hold. I've heard that it handles great though so maybe the same would be true to this. Feel like itd be a cool and unique look to their lineup.

I think the Shock is based off of Shaak Ti's saber more than Revan's.

I stand corrected. I guess I saw a post about turning the Shock into a Revan-type saber by switching pommels stuck in my head.

It'd be great to get an Obi Wan ANH saber! US clearly can do grenade grips, and black and gold anodization, so itd be easy with stuff they already have. Here's one I made

12 divots in the emitter, cut off the tsuba protrustion, 7 vertical grooves in the grip section, and 10 vertical grooves betwen the pommel and the covertec.

How about something just upright mean and nasty looking? Even more meaner than the Raven or War Glaive sabers :P

I would love to see one of two hilt designs: a Kanan-inspired (or Depa Bilaba) lightsaber from Rebels, or an Imperial Knight v.2. Oh what I wouldn't give for a new Imperial Knight.

another curved handle would be great, currently i think the curved sabers offered by the competition are far superior to the mantis.

I would, too, but I don't agree that the "other guys" make a superior curved handle, maybe different, but not superior, and certainly not in the same league as far as durability and value.

I would think a proper curved hilt would be small enough to use fencing style sabering (or Form II if you will).  There really aren't many goof Form II sabers out there.

Maybe a curved pommel?  So you can make any saber a curved hilt saber.  Plus the battery and boards section would still be in the main cylinder.  The sound might be muffled a little bit due to the length and the bend, but they could put the vents for sound near the threads similar to the vented connectors.

of course i only meant in design, i find the 'other guys'' curved handle designs to be more aesthetically pleasing, and, right now at least, if/when i buy a curved saber i'll go elsewhere for it, but if ultrasabers came out with a better design i'd buy it almost instantly.

Me to.. The Mantis is way to long in my opinion. Great looking saber in terms of the overall visual design, but to long for my taste..

my personal main issue is the saber is so long after the bend, the mantis has one design aspect over the other guys' which is that the curve happens after the handle, rather than before, but it's got too long of a neck in my opinion for its purpose to be very useful. i'd like a saber that curves right at the emitter. basically.

I hope this is a good place to ask this. (and that I didn't miss where it has already been asked :-) )  I've got big hands and like a long saber grip, has anyone ever asked for a coupler to be made as an extender?

I.E. the coupler has external threads on both ends, what if one end could have an emiter connect and the other end could go into the body.
Example: Meanace emiter into a coupler with vents, then into a warglave body?

A curved saber that doesn't have a neck piece that cuts into my hand. I would love if they made Count Dooku's Lightsaber. Darksaber would be cool if it is done right. More OG designs not just stuff from the SWU would be cool to see also.

Thanks very much. The Bastilla is one I have been tinkering with over the past month or so but the "Fallen Order" model I built the very same day the game images/box cover were released. I did add a few details later, like a pommel which seemed to be missing and tweaked the emitter shrouds (so I didn't just make an exact copy). All in all it was modelled in less than 24hrs.

And to Lady Revan, I will work on a Malak inspired pair, one from each version you posted ok. I just need to finish a "Six Million Dollar Man" inspired build first.

A Saber I must like to see is a proto Saber, my reasons why. It be more an adaptive saber for those with some form of disability I’m getting up in years now so the slight paralysis that effect my left side has increased  as it deteriorate further I be wheelchair bound.. The idea that 90 % of the saber be in a pack that can sit on its own to change the batteries and the like.. Plus it looks awesome
But till then here’s a suggestion for option thumbscrew, you be surprised how adaptive that would be

I would think that a proto-saber would just need to be a clever prop addition to a standard saber. But seeing as how US is in the business of combat sabers, the power cable on a proto severely limits its effectiveness in combat. This is even stated in the saber canon. That's why the Sith worked out how to house the power supply within the hilt, maximizing its versatility and combat ability.

I'm not trying to dismiss your ailment, but I'm sure there is some clevor-clogs out there that could modify a saber to fit this idea to your needs. Basically you're looking for a way to more easily maintain your saber's power?

Emitter side, yes. Pommel side? Pass. I fail to see how they justify its operation when the power supply is that badly damaged.

Although I hated that TCW arc, I have to admit that is a fine looking saber. Curvy and shmexy.

Definitely a glowing crystal in the hilt, BUT, unlike other unnamed companies, the " crystal compartment" is accessible, but also hidden, or at least covered so that you can still wield the saber as normal, comfortably. The crystal compartment- think battery cover on a remote control, except maybe see-through, maybe not. Crystal glows when it is properly inserted. Cover it up and you're ready to rock and roll.

For me, crystal chambers are neat kitsch, but a liability in the design of a combat saber.

TSL type combat, for sure. But for the vast majority who choose sabers for display, cosplay, and casual sparring, definitely doable.

I think a crystal chamber could be done with a duel worthy saber. But it would have to be a reveal chamber, you would have to unscrew the saber to see it.

I would like to see the temple guard sentinel saber that folds in the middle maybe detachable to going separate sabers not sure how practical it is but would be cool.

the things I want to see ultrasabers make are as follows:

-Inquisitor Hilt. Probalby wont spin, but Id love being able to have a one-handed double blade

-Ventress' hilts.

-Above all else, a new "basic hilt" that can be compared to the Sentinel and Aeon/Dominix in looks/price/quality. I just feel like they are a little too common and want another type of common hilt besides these two be available as well (Standard Issues and Liberators dont count since they are less common than these).

This may be an impractical design but I designed a "Wookie Berserker" hilt last year in honour of Peter Mayhew and thought you might like to see it.

It was intended as a two handed (for humans  ;D ) hilt and it has a crystal chamber pommel with "forest spirits" contained within it. The Tsuba was modeled on the famous Bowcaster.

I would like to put a vote on the Dark Woman's lightsaber.  This hilt construction is simply stunning with its organic design and regal feel, just like the Monarch.  I have always wanted to see this one brought into reality.  If not, then I would love to see Master Vos' lightsaber.

Ummm, actually, I for one would love to see an inquisitor saberstaff hilt from ultrasabers. would it spin? probably not, unless they do some REALLY good tech magic. Would it look cool, though? you bet. Plus, considering that these aren't actual laser swords, the circular ring could act as a useful handguard of sorts in dueling (I keep imagining someone using it one handed, with either one or two blades, because of this). :D

Now as for the other two hilts, I would doubt that ultrasabers would make them, as they would seem pretty difficult to make, at least more so than the inquisitor's. However, this is coming from a guy who really wants a new family of basic saber to be made, so who knows?

And it would weigh a ton, making it very ineffective as a dueling weapon.


What other two?

I don't know if it's been done, but maybe a limited run of the Darksaber? Since you have to deal with the square shape and the square hole for the blade?
