Here are the first shots of Alicia Vikander, as Lara Croft, on the set of Tomb Raider in South Africa:











The new film will revolve around a young Lara who goes on her first archaeological adventure to follow in her father's footsteps.

The Affair's Dominic West has signed on to play Lord Richard Croft in the latest film version of the popular video games.

Alicia is adamant that the latest reboot is very much more an origin story than the Angelina Jolie version.

Tomb raider is set for release on March 16, 2018.

Yeah. Walter Goggins is playing Father Mathias, so I assume this will be based on the recent game reboot, which is no bad thing.

And Norwegian director Roar Uthaug (The Wave) is on duty behind the camera
