This is easily the greatest superhero theme since John William's Superman. It's very easily recognizable and distinct, keeping things simple and gradually expanding on its simplicity with overlapping intensity coaxed out through a blend of perfectly harmonious and badass melodies. Listening to this makes me feel like I can soar way up high into the air and never have to come down again. It is a song of great triumph and inspiration.

40% of domestic violence is against men in the UK. Violence is violence, no matter who it's aimed at.

This is a real problem in our society.

I recently rewatched Daredevil, and I must say... the acting isn't bad. Like, at all. With the possible exception of Jennifer Garner, everyone was spot on. The only thing that held them back, and even made them goofy at times, was the lack of good direction and a godawful script to boot.

And speaking of direction, that is truly the movie's only major pitfall. All pothole-filled movie-making roads in this cluster lead back to the director, a guy who just doesn't have a clue how to structure a movie or how to make it work, period. He needs to go back to Filmmaking 101 courses, methinks.

Anyway, like I said, the acting wasn't bad. Everyone gave their best performances with what they could work with, and what they could work with wasn't that great (as I said). Even Ben Affleck, who gets the most flack for his acting in this movie, wasn't bad. In fact, he did pretty well all things considered. And I seriously do not understand the hate that he gets for this movie. One article even calls it "Ben Affleck's Daredevil" as if this whole movie was his doing. It's ridiculous. His acting was as good as it could be given the circumstances. And I for one can't wait to see him kill it as Batman. Then I can proudly (and correctly) say that I never doubted him for a second.

My theory is that, after watching this movie, everyone begins to think only of the overwhelming garbage contained within it, to the point were none of the good bits (as few as there are) get remembered, and the audiences then warp those good things into bad things as time goes by.

Yeah, TL;DR, the only problem with Daredevil is the director, who also wrote the screenplay. That's it. Acting was fine. Colin Farrell, in particular, was
brilliant. That scene in the airplane when he was growing increasingly more agitated by the person who just couldn't shut up? Yeah, that was very convincing and real, yet it could have just as easily come off as campy and ridiculous. But it didn't.

Finally, the music... oh gosh, the freaking music. The use of actual songs by actual bands as opposed to orchestral tracks (or just instrumental tracks in general) is just off-putting. It cheapens the experience and makes the whole thing feel like a fan video someone quickly edited and put on YouTube. It probably wouldn't be as bad if the songs were good and fit with the mood, but this movie chose to use these trashy teeny bopper rock songs by some of the worst rock bands ever, such as Evanescence and Drowning Pool. BLERGH.

I plan on watching the director's cut, because apparently the director actually does know how to make a film, and it was really all just the studio's fault for interfering, but even if that was the case, and even if I do end up liking the director's cut, it still doesn't change the fact that the soundtrack is horrible, and it ruins the scenes that it is played in. I just wanted to throw up during the funeral scene when Evanescence was blasting away, for example.

But I'm sure that if I try hard enough, I can look past that. I hope. Either way, I plan on watching the Director's Cut, and maybe I'll like this movie.

BYE.

+1, Zren.

I can dig it, but next time make sure that if there are explicit lyrics within the song you label it as such.

(Remember, if you remove the "s" from "https" the video will show up.  Smiley)

These guys have been my favorite band for a while now, and with good reason! I love how most of their songs don't follow the usual verse-chorus-versus pattern (the ones that do are also great), their masterful storytelling, and how their music brings back elements of old American music. Their murder ballads are especially enchanting  Wink
