The MCU is thriving, but the same cannot be said for Marvel on tv. Except when it comes to their Netflix-verse with the more "street level" heroes. Continuing on from where Luke Cage left off come Iron Fist. It looks awesome and I cannot wait for The Defenders team-up (Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist).

This looks delicious.

I quite like David Wenham. He's a solid actor, and he's had some great supporting roles.

I think this will be 4 for 4 on Netflix for Marvel. I have loved ALL the shows that have been released their so far.
I just wonder if we will see him in his costume at any time during the series. This will be the first thing I've seen David Wenham in,  which is a good as I have no preconceptions as to what he will bring to the role.

When I heard they were making this show I was wondering how they would visually show his power. I think this effect is creative, visually amazing and very cool

I have seen all of those, but he obviously didn't stand out.

I don't think LB likes popular things. He's a little bit of a hipster in his avant garde choices (said with tongue firmly in cheek)

OH  lol   No Wenham is the bad guy in Iron Fist...  Rand is being played by Finn Jones who played  Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones

Ok - resetting the conversation, This will be the first thing I've seen Finn Jones in, which is a good as I have no preconceptions as to what he will bring to the role. (I am very proud of the fact that I have never seen even a single episode of Game of Thrones).

You have good eyes if you recognised Wenham from the brief flashes in the trailer (or did you look up the cast on IMDB or something?).

Yep, definitely hipster. Plus, when it comes to tv shows, I split the audience into two types: geeks and muggles If a show is massively popular with muggles and gets hyped up massively, chances are I won't enjoy it much. If geeks like it first and then muggles catch on, then I will enjoy it. This mentality is based on experience and empirical evidence. Plus it's fun shocking my friends when they find out I haven't seen it.

I may get around to it eventually. One day. Maybe.

Well remember, its based on books that were popular with geeks for 15 years before it was a show.  "Muggles" only got into it because it had Dragons and Nudity.

1- What are "books"?
2- Dragons and nudity are an awesome combination, but still not enough to get me to watch
3- Regarding the source material, that's exactly the same reason I don't watch The Walking Dead (cos I read the comics when they first came out and the show just can't compare to that awesomeness).
4- The world needs muggles; it makes us geeks more amazing by comparison

In the case of GOT  I actually prefer the show to the books...

It just looks very derivative compared to other shows, like a knockoff mixture of DAREDEVIL and ARROW. With superhero media being so saturated now I'm finding myself increasingly wanting these things to stand out or add something new (or just be an incredibly solid romp), and I haven't seen much here yet.
