Bellicose Battery Pack

Hey, I'm in a little bit of a pickle. I got a bellicose saber for Christmas and the batteries died, so I'm trying to get them out to charge them. The problem is, the pack won't come out of the hilt. I've tried everything the video said to do, and nothing has worked so far. I don't want to go digging around in it with a screw driver or anything, or smack it off something so hard it breaks. Is there anything I else I should try?
