I'm in the same boat here trying to decide what I want to do with a $300 budget. I was originally going to go with mystery boxes but the more I mess around with the website and calculating things the more I just want to order something custom. Iv watched a million MB openings on YouTube and can pretty much order something I'd prefer for like $85 as opposed to getting something completely random for $75. That's losing the chance of getting somethin awesome.. but that's honestly a really small chance to begin with. Iv even been looking into getting stunt double blade sabers which will give me 2 separate sabers and basically a free coupler. So so so many decisions and options. Its actually giving me a headache HAHA

Honestly if I had a 300$ budget, I'd save it. Wait until I had enough for the saber I really wanted, and then buy that. But then again, I am different than most of us on here, and as long as I eventually get the thing I ordered, I have no problem waiting.  |

I really think a lot of the options you get on your saber is personal preference, that being said I do not change sound fonts or colors on my sabers.
So I don't spend extra for the options that I won't use. This really helps keep the saber in my budget. So you just have to decide what options you really want and what ones you don't .
Most all of my sabers have been in the same budget range or less than you are talking about.
The Prophecy example mentioned is a very good one. I love that saber, It was my first and still my favorite. Good luck on your decision. MTFBWY!

Definitely a custom one. You are probably won't get sound with a mystery box and the sound adds so much to the saber. You can get any of the lower end hilts with premium v4 sound that is within your budget.

I think I will go with custom. I was sold on the Prophecy, but now the Archon V3 is turning my head. It doesn't have the slanted blade emitter, but it seems much more detailed. |

My son and I have both of these sabers and I prefer the Prophecy.
I like them both but if you want to duel with the Archon V3.1. The blade socket is only about 1 inch deep so there is a slight wobble in the blade.
Getting a 32 inch blade helps but If you don't plan on dueling it will be fine.
I would recommend getting the Archon V2 emitter with it for dueling because it is much stronger and has about a 3 1/2 inch blade depth.

We apparently have very similar tastes lol. I went with the Initiate LE v4 to test the waters and have a Prophecy on deck for about $350 that I think I'll do next. |
