Help!!

I have Windows 8.1 and no matter what I do my computer wont even recognize that my lightsaber is even plugged in. I am extremely new to this. I just go my first saber the other day and would love to be able to play around with the sounds and colors. Thanks

So the computer doesn't do anything when you attach the usb cable? Not a beeping sound?

Turn saber on
connect to computer with usb cable
open obsidian program

Also, you have to make sure you are logged out of any named account on your pc, and then run the program as the administrator (you also have to be doing this when you download the program in the first place).

WARNING!! make sure you use freshly charged batteries as well..!!!!! this is a must, as when changing the fonts, and settings, it can take a good while to run the setup after you initiate it, and , you wont like it when the batteries die mid setup.... can make things very confusing and hard to troubleshoot later.. just use freshly full batteries when you are gonna run the updates, ... that is.. after you get it working....
