Hey everyone, I was wondering if you guys could answer a question for me:

how easy/difficult would it be to completely swap the electronics of two sabers?

or more specifically:

I have a Raven with a 2-channel emerald driver, sound and a silver AV switch, and a stunt bellicose.
how easy would it be to end up with a bellicose with a 2-channel emerald driver with sound and AV switch, and a stunt Raven?

I know that the bellicose can handle all these features, since it's available to buy with them, and I'm pretty sure it's the same size of LED and such.

however, I'm not sure how difficult it would be to remove the parts from one saber and put them into another.

I think the only things keeping the internals internal are the switch, blade holder and pommel, the latter two of which can be removed easily.

so is the switch the only thing keeping it all in place? and if so, how easy is it to undo?

sorry if I rambled, and thanks for reading.

The switch and the wires are the 'tough' bits. It is basically not possible to get all the insides out of either Saber without cutting wires.

Of course, that then requires you to resolder the wires together once in the other hilt.
The switch, I believe is "press fit" but sometimes can be tough to get out.

so it would just be a matter of cut/resolder? because if so, that doesn't sound too complicated... *trying desperately not to jinx it*

For the most part that's the easy bit, but if you have a stunt saber unless you get a 12mm av switch you would also have to widen the hols made for the guarded latching switch also to make the saber that has the sound and emerald you would need to get a 16mm latching switch. And to make things more difficult the av switches in ultrasabers are also bot glued around the base witch can be difficult to get to.

I hope this helps

I'm no pro but I've done the samething a couple times now and I'm still learning with every step.

so the Av/ non-AV switches are different sizes? externally they seem to be about the same?

and, at the risk of sounding foolish, what's 'bot glued'?

thanks.

Lol sorry " hot glued"

Here they are side by side as you can see the av switches are just a bit bigger

hmmm. this does seem to be getting more and more complicated the closer I look at it...

Don't have the money right now, but I wonder if I'd be better off asking US to do the switch? I'd guess they'd know best on this sort of thing.

Its not exactly an easy task. The first one I did was my shock le I got originally as a stunt then I got the inturnals and built it up that way. I still had to make the original switch hold larger and not having the propper tools on hand at the time it took a little longer than I wanted. In  the end I ended up with an amazing saberthat is still my favorite.
I even tore it town again to do a reinstall of the wires ( they where too long) added a recharge port w/ kill key and some blinking leds in the pomel.

yeah, I'm continually finding that I prefer the bellicose to the raven, and I think I'd prefer it to have the sound/emerald. (plus, the silver/blue combo works better on a bellicose than a raven if you ask me.) but at the same time, I don't want to screw it up and ruin two good sabers.

on that note, is it possible to get a 16mm latching switch and a 12mm AV switch anywhere?
