This is the black anodized version of the Catalyst.  The emitter, body, and pommel have all been anodized black (NOT powdercoated, anodizing is a much better and much more reliable finish) and the grooves on the body have been machined and polished back to an aluminum finish.

A Catalyst is the prime agent to any change; the name suits this saber perfectly. It is elegant and beautiful, yet retains a very menacing appeal. This saber is built with the highest quality MHS parts from TCSS. It will stand up to rigorous use time and again.

The 4 pronged crown emitter allows the light of the blade to shine through for a distinct aggressive look. The curved choke point directly below the emitter is perfect for the controlling hand and is extremely comfortable. Rings have been intricately engraved in the hilt body for superb grip of the trailing hand, not to mention they look great. Finally, the pommel is angled to match the emitter.

Just want to add that this saber is sexy.

this saber is awesome. i really wanted to buy a consular and a grab bag in the next week or so but now i think i might get dark catalyst and bellicose.

this would be a great off hand saber for me. a dark catalyst red and a dark was glaive violet. sooo dark side

I've come to the conclusion that Ultra Sabers is actually a curtain for Ultra, Emory, and Deep to sell amazing products for Star Wars fans at prices we cant refuse so they can make a giant death ray and take over the world! and at some point Novastar got in on it! I see your guy's game!.......however, it isnt stopping me from spending my money here and helping you with world domination xD. I cant decide between this and standard catalyst now! ;D

I think I'll hold off on this one.  Most of my sabers are getting dark sided, and I'm trying to be a nice Gray Jedi. I must keep the sides evenly matched,  so I'm going with the...Ca-ching Bellicose!

Really cool to see a CSS hilt get the Ultra treatment. I wonder how that works out business wise: Did you guys commission them directly? Buy them in bulk and have it done third party?

Regardless, I love the emitter and the choke in black. Really hot. For my tastes the body's a little busy with the grooves and because of that, this is the first "dark" edition whose light side version I actually like a little better.

What would you name the staff version? thought of Cataclysm but the name is used so much lately. Thought of Symbian because what effects one affects the other. Cygnus might be cool for a dark/light saber (god of balance). What do you guys got?

Not the Symbian. That sounds too much like... uhm. Not the Symbian. Cygnus works. Could even have light side, dark side staff, you know, Swan / Ugly duckling deal.

Yeah after I got off for a sec I realized what i wrote lol. Figured every body would have known what i meant. so yeah no symbian. Well the light and dark staff will happen just thinking of names hehe. eventually I want the staff. I know its huge.

Anybody know why you can't get quick disconnects on the catalyst? is it because of a different set up or something? Looks like they have a different led set up or something. I ve looked for a reason but can't quite find one.
