I'm 5'6". I was wondering how long my blades should be. I'm really just interested in doing spins with this.

I think 32" Should work fine, it will be a little taller then you but if you know how to work it you'll be fine

That would make a 7 foot tall staff.  If you went with 24" blades, you'd have a 5'8" staff.  It's all up to what you feel comfortable with.

I recommend a staff that is 6" tall for your height. Anything else would be rather cumbersome.

I would reccomend initiate length blades, they're cheaper and it'll be easier for you to wield. A blade size around seven feet is kind of crazy, even for the taller amongst us.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I just have one more question.

I already own one SI. So I ordered a coupler for two, an initiate blade, and another SI. But with the Order comments, I requested that the mid-grade blade coming with the saber be cut down to initiate size. (So I have two blades in the order with identical length.)

Will this affect the cost of my order?

I would recommend the 24-inch blades.  As a general rule of thumb, I recommend practicing with a staff weapon no longer than your height, particularly if you're just starting out.

The great thing about Ultrasabers is the ease of swapping out blades later on; once you have more experience, you'll have a better understanding of what works best for you, and you can make any such changes later.

I'm as tall as you and I use the 24" bales on a full hilt staff.

Lots of room to move your hands.

You can also use it as a pike because it's shorter.
