Title: saber mock up question
Post by: Aayrick on December 08, 2016, 08:26:56 PM
I saw one post where cardboard tubes were used to mock up a shroud for a saber, but was curious about what people do when they're thinking about making a full saber.  I've started some sketches, ironing out design ideas so far and was planning on doing some mock ups soon to see how the design would translate to 3D.  I thought about using cardboard or PVC and was wondering what other people had done of if I'm overthinking the process.

The design I'm thinking of is a tonfa inspired saber so the basic form is pretty simple, just trying to figure out how to make it so it looks good.

Well, my advice would be to pm Sedstiskyfaller. He does 3D printing and see if he can help you out. MTFBWY!

Thanks.  If I get to that point, I'll definitely try to contact them.  I'm still just thinking things through and only have a basic sketch to work with.
