Say hello to the next evolution of the Ultrasabers line-up: the Apprentice v5, Aeon v5, Dominix v5, Initiate v5, and the Sentinel v5!

That's right- the v5s are here, and they are SWEET. We're extremely excited to present them to you with all their new features, as well as some returning favorites that now come standard, and at no extra charge.

You guys and gals wrote in, and we listened to feedback from THOUSANDS of emails while designing the v5s, and we've really upgraded our Basic Saber lineup from top to bottom with the most requested features!

• "Why can't they all just have windows?" - Done! All v5s are crafted with windowed emitters!
• "A/V Switches put the saber outside my budget" - Heard. AV Switches are standard on all v5s!
• "We want claws" - You got em on the Aeon v5, Dominix v5, and Initiate v5s. At no extra charge!

That's right- All v5s will come STANDARD with windows and an AV Switch (That's a $20 savings from the same configuration on one of our v4s already!), and the Aeon v5, Dominix v5, and Initiate v5 all come standard with their own set of claws!

Each v5 saber is able to accommodate our Obsidian Soundboards, Emerald Driver, and Diamond Controller installs, and has a brand-new MHS compatible pommel.  And of course, each saber in the lineup is available in their usual variety of Standard, Dark, and LE finishes giving you plenty of options for each saber.

The v5s are available for preorder now, with sabers arriving at your door in mid to late November.

I would have preferred if the claws on the Aeon/Initiate were 'flush' with the switch section (without the little gap that can catch your clothing), but I like them nevertheless ;D

Wow....Emory has become Santa Clause!  I will have to say I am impressed!!  Ultrasabers has really been pumping these new and exciting designs out this year.  Well done Emory!  I am really drawn to the Domonix v5 line.....exciting times!

Wow oh WOW! What a way to start my day. I just woke up and found these stunning new V5s have dropped!

Fabulous detailing and I love the new "semi-premium" pommels. I had dreamed of owning a Prophecy V3 or Sentinel one day but I'm going to have to add one of these to my virtual buying list.

These sabers look amazing! I definitely need to get the sentinel v5 le, dark sentinel v5 le and aeon v5 le. Sadly I'm just a poor uni student a can't afford them yet.

I am loving the Aeon V5 as well ... except for the emitter claw.  Not that I don't like the look, but in handing my V4 I know that I tend to grip the hilt about where those claws end.  Which could potentially be painful.

So, a question: Are the emitter claws removable?  If so ... I am in LOVE!!!!!

Though I may have to break down and admit that the Dark Sentinal V5 LE with an Aeon V5 LE pommel may in fact be the ultimate "basic" saber hilt of all time....   

I know what I'll be getting over a Prophecy then :P Was gonna get a Prophecy as well but then these came out :P Dominix V5 LE ;o Actually wouldn't mind it in Blazing Red this time either =] So much red sabers will be coming my way soon :P Loving the new bottom grip design too

Not it. I always grip below the switch on 12" hilts. But I grip my Ini V3 right around that hump in where the switch is mounted. It fits my hand so nice. But I'm more gunning for an Ini V5 LE staff.

very nice. My first saber was a Sentinel LE v4 with Ob Lite. Definitely grabbing the v5 and its getting the full upgrade treatment!

It's truly incredible how much you guys at US are listening to everybody giving feedback. They all look amazing and but definitely have to get me one of those new Apprentice LE's. Those elongated windows look sick, I get a definite KOTOR vibe from the design but I'm not sure why, they look so unique!

Oh... and I hope this doesn't mean the V2's are getting phased out soon. At least wait until I manage to grab one of them  :P

Agreed, I love how UltraSabers listen to us as well, removing the guarded switch and making the AV switch and the windowed emitters a standard.  I just can't stop looking at them

EDIT: The only thing I would change is the pommel. I do not like open ended pommels.

I'm digging the idea of a staff with the smaller designs.

I hear ya, Sam!  I am thinking that a pair of the Dark Apprentice V5 LEs would be amazing, though the Initiate V5s look really awesome as well!  Those claws on a staff config would be killer!

In the Apprentice v5 writeup, it says 10" length -- is that with the pommel?  I can't tell from the mockup if there's a pommel on it or not.

Since a sound coupler is 1.9", I'm wondering what the total length for a 2x Apprentice v5 saber + 1.9" coupler would be.

(My hope is that those mockups include a pommel like a modified Bane pommel.  Since the Bane pommel is 1.7" and other pommels are well over an inch, that means a pommel-less Apprentice v5 might be 9" or less, which would be wonderful.)

The Initiate V5s would be an amazing staff!!!

I would expect the pommel for the Apprentice V5 to be very similar to what is pictured and shown on the mock-ups, or to be what they put on the V4s - a simple, bevelled cap with cross-hatching for grip.  Emory stated in the video that the size is the same, so your measurements for a staff with a vented coupler would be just shy of 22". 

I keep drooling at the Aeon V5. That might be my next saber.

Yes, I love that grenade grip, and to think that I remember asking for it last month.  haha

 I'm curious great question, I also went to put a double bladed saber in my cart but diamond plus flash on clash weren't available. Instead I ordered a mystery box and coupler, figure worst case I can connect my aeon v4 stunt to my initiate diamond with 2 24". Will it make perfect sense no I guess but it  didn't cost much and fingers crossed on my 4th mystery box lol. Truth is I do have plans of getting a new high end saber but my 2nd was just born and my wife is like scrooge mcduck with our savings account even tho I make a lot of money 😶🤔😫😤 point for awesome question

Emerald and Diamond have FoC functionality built in. You can program how many flashes, how quick to flash, and what CUSTOM color to flash. You can even program a pulse, which is a color change without clash.

I can tell you that : if I order one, I order 2 ! And I'll use them as a double blade !

Still don't know if I'll take 2 initiates or 1 initiate and 1 apprentice !

How tall are you?

Bleagh.  My v3 staff is a touch too long at 20.9", so even longer is definitely a dealbreaker.  Alas.

That said, the mockups are definitely pretty.  Here's hoping there'll be a future variant that are notably shorter.

1m60, I already have a phantasm initiate v2 with 2 24" blades and I feel really good with it ;) (already spin it and fight with a friend)

160cm / 2.54(cm/in) = 63".....WOW. I would recommend as little length as possible. Go for Initiate length hilts (9") and 24" blades.

Yes you are right ;) but apprentice or initiate... really hard for the v5, I love the claws but I'm worried about them : will it be comfortable ?

When I say "Initiate length" I'm referring to the general length of an Initiate, which is identical to that of the Apprentice. 9"

I don't imagine anyone gripping a staff at the emitter. So if you use a two-handed staff grip, put your pinkies just past the switches, and you won't run into the claws. However practice will allow you to see what is comfortable and what is not.

When I spin my staff for fun, I usually take it near the middle, but during a duel, I'm close to the blade for more control, but it's instinctive, don't really think.
But you are right, I take my initiate v2 on the groves just above the switch, so the claws could be good !

I love the v5 designs, they are amazing, the only complaint I have is that the pommels just have holes at the bottom, if there was something that could be screwed into this bottom like a coupler or another pommel they'd be all the more amazing. If this is already possible then ignore me. However I am definitely going to get at least one of the V5's

Do not worry, you are not alone. The open pommel is my only visual complaint.

They are still in the protype phase they could add a feature to allow a coupler to be slid/screwed in there.

Or they could resign the pommel so it has vents. (Being very optimistic)

Which ever is easier, just want something special there.

You can change the pommel. They've got the usual MHS compatible threading.

I used to have an issue with those pommels. But, I decided to try one recently and they're not bad.

Preordered a Dark Apprentice V5 w/diamond RGB-A.

Both versions of the Apprentice LE look fantastic. I hope that I can soon order BOTH.

Right on, first thing I'd probably do is slap a different MHS pommel on there. I think it would look great with a solid pommel insert (or vented of course for sound), something like TCSS does.

Yup, that's what I was thinking, pommel inserts from TCSS isn't a big deal and it's a few bucks

Have to agree. That huge hole in the pommel does somewhat annoy me. First thing i'm going to do is glue a 1.25" plastic disc in it, with many holes to allow the sound thru.

I suggested to someone else that they look into buying a sheet of mesh wiring and cutting a piece into a disc to epoxy in place. The mesh is similar to the windshield on microphones and I thought model making supply shops might stock something similar. With it being metallic it wouldn't stand out as much.

Yeah those pommel inserts are great, It just adds a couple dozen ways to customize things. Hey maybe Ultrasabers will get in on that game?  ;D

Ah, I plan on mounting the disc on the inside edge of the pommel, not the bottom.

The inserts won't fit into a US vented pommel. Even if they did, there's nothing to hold them in there.

Putting in a mesh or something would be the most viable option. Or just swapping pommels.

On a side note, did anyone else notice that the black saber he activated in the video had blaster effects? Does Diamond have those, or did we just get an Easter egg look at a new board. One of my friends also pointed out a gradient power on and off, even on the saber he said had Obsidian, but I know Diamond can do that.

Hopefully an update to the Diamond Controller.

Had to go back and check the video after Sci mentioned blaster effects cause that is a feature I would like on Obsidian.  But from the way the blade colors reacted and how Deep was rotating the saber in his hand, I believe he set off a gesture affect on the Diamond board.  Hoping I am wrong as Obsidian V5 would be super sweet especially if they could get Tri-Crees to at least flicker on clash.

I really want a gold and silver hilt in my collection and the Initiate LE V5 looks almost perfect except for the points on the claws going downward towards the wielder.  Would much rather they point up like the Butcher or don't end in a downward point at all.  Logos you should definately make a V5 staff and post lots of pics, that would be sweet and I agree, in staff wielding the location of the points won't be such an issue.

Two things, The claws look like they will tear  up your hands, Maybe more of curve so it fully connects the rest of the hilt instead of a floating edge?   Plus the window in the sentinel looks like they are flipping you off......but that could just be me?? lol

^^^Never even noticed that :P Like he said though these should just be the prototypes so design change is possibly going to happen say with the claws on the Aeon/Dominix sabers. Hope so because I usually grip on the upper choke point x.x

what about a bushing reducer? Probably Google its size and order maybe?

The Aeon/Dominix pommels are the big win here that I see - a matching one of those on a Dark Apprentice LE V4 would make a nice weapon.

All I can say is it’s a good time to be an US fan. The V5s all look amazing, but right now I’m torn between an Aeon LE and a Sentinel LE with the Aeon pommel, consular green blade for either, please :)

May be time for a new Initiate and/or Apprentice for the collection

I was thinking this myself since I found out early yesterday. I wonder if it'll be during it's release or soon after.  These are lower end sabers after all and the mystery boxes are riddled with them so I'd imagine it would be pretty quickly unless there's an abundance of orders that they have to fill first

I figured they would end up in mystery boxes like their previous versions once they are in stock. I was planning to buy another mystery box in a month or so. Now I’m wondering whether i should wait until these come in...LOL!

On the other hand, with fall and Christmas sales coming, I did some math yesterday and the V5s really will be decent prices with sales discount included :)

The length is the same but the style is a bit different between the V4 and the V5, you now have windows and AV switches as a standard along with grenade grips for the Aeon, Dominix, and Initiate.  They also come with claws that you can have in black, silver, or gold but come standard in black for the Dark LEs and gold for the LEs.  The Apprentice and Sentinels lines have vertical windows this time around instead of the horizontal ones of the V4s

The Initiates will look the same as the Aeon and Dominix just shorter versions and the Apprentices are the same as the Sentinels, just shorter versions as well.

From what Emery is saying, the specs are pretty much the same. The aesthetics are different along with the stuff that we’ve requested in the past like the grenade grips, windows and AV switches being standard

Yep it is in the Diner parking lot! lol  took me ten year of enjoining it until i noticed it.     Also will there  V4 versions of the Liberator, SI and Prophecy models?.......because there never was one. or you can just skip it and do V5s. 

Only time will tell!!

It seems like US will release them in batches and I’m hoping that they will be incoming maybe around the holidays or at least once winter hits. I think they like to give us time to collect enough and be happy before releasing more

Just have spotted the v5-series on FB, love those beautiful touches! I'm actually overly happy with the v4s I have (they pretty much dominate my rack) but these are even nicer!

I like how the gold anodized parts look on may of them, it's something that Ultrasabers does nicely.

I really want the black saber with gold claws. I believe they can be ordered that way, but I think the middle of the saber would still be silver.

I didn't even realize this but just went on the site and yes you can get gold claws on either the Dark LE (I assume like you a silver middle) or just the Dark. That would be all black with just the gold claws. Don't know if that includes the claws on the pommel but if it did that would be sweet.

I hope so, too, but that way US would have to manufacture two different kinds of emitter claws (as the chokes of Initiate and Aeon are different)...

Knowing the dedication US puts into details I'd wager 'Yes, pommel claws will match the emitter claws' ;D

Other than the Mantis, when was the last time US left sharp edges on a hilt?

I have yet to experience one on a hilt but have experienced it with a few couplers.

In the past 18 months I've had the chance to check out a Scorpion (staff) and a Menace staff, neither of them had any really sharp edges even though they have a lot of detailing and greeblies.

hopefully those initiate pommels will be available on their own someday...

Hi all, I just asked Marlena if the claws of the pommel on the DI/ Dominix would be black and gold as well. She couldn't give me a definite answer since they are prototypes. She has not seen a black and gold pommel yet, but she would get back to me with a definite answer. This is a major selling point for me and will determine where it is on the list. It could be my next order if it does. I'll let you all know when I get a definite answer.

I concur. I love my Scropion staff.

These V5s looked great. I just wish they still had the Guarded switch option. I like ordering those then replacing it with a 12mm AV instead of 16 so it sits down in flush.

Is it just me, or do the Aeon and Dominix sabers resemble the new Butcher in a way? Good idea though to market a new, updated version of the basic sabers. In my opinion these new V5s really makes the basics more enjoyable to purchase since they did do a really excellent job on designing these new editions to the Ultrasaber arsenal. Well done Ultrasabers!  ;)

Those were incredible photos from that con there, Kath.  That Deadpool was pretty dead on. I like the Menace staff, do you know the specs or should I ask Logos?

I do believe it was BH with v4. He has quick disconnects in his sabers so he can swap. Oh and it's the Menace CE so lots of sexy nickel

Menace CE, BH w/ sound (only half is V4), 32" UE blades. I love that staff.

It was a drawback with Rotoscoping. There was always an element of transparency as the "blade" was painted onto another layer of blank film (cell by cell) and so the colours were never really "solid" looking. As you can see from these next two pics:

As it should have been since the blades are as far from solid as you can get.

OK I might have used the wrong word to describe the blades' colours! Maybe "saturated" or "intense" would have been a better choice.

However I don't think the new V5 Line-up of Ultrasabers will suffer from such problems (or any of their line-up actually  :)  )

The V5 lineup is going to rock. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one. Hopefully, I can afford to put in an order before they release. If not, I'll at least try to get one before the end of the year.

I'm thinking I'll at least get the Initiate LE V5 as a stunt closer to Christmas time.

I look at them like fire hoses. The "laser" is the water the the emitted field is the hose. When a physical obstruction gets in the way of the field, it's like opening the nozzle on the hose. The energy is released, destroying the obstruction until the field can be reestablished. But when the field comes up against an energy source (say another emitted field) they resist each other. Energy repels energy, that's why a saber can deflect blaster bolts.

I have never thought about it that way, you get a point Logos.

I love all the new v5 sabers  :o I was going to get a sentinel le v4 when I am able to put in my next saber order, but now I am going to have to go with the new sentinel le v5 instead. That is just sweet looking! I am going to get it in Violet Amethyst since that is the one color I don't have and I think it will look awesome with that hilt.

So, I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I have a point to make.

The new Initiate and Aeon v5 line will cost $20 more than the v4 line.

So a v4 with windows and AV switch upgrade would cost the same as a v5 which has them standard.

Obviously you are getting different aesthetics, and US can charge whatever they want, and I'm not saying they are not worth the money.

But you're not actually saving any money on an Aeon or Initiate v5. In a way, making the widows and AV switch standard and then charging $20 more just prices the hilts out of range for someone who might be ok with no windows and a normal switch.

That being said, the apprentice and sentinel v5 line is only $5 more expensive that the v4 line, so you are in fact saving $15 on the windows and AV switch with those.

I'm guessing the difference in price between the Aeon v5 and Sentinel v5 is due to the claws and possibly grenade grip, but that is pure speculation.

Sorry for raining on the parade, but I gotta call them like I see them. If I made a mistake in my calculations I do apologize, and please let me know

I kinda agree on that though, not everyone is a fan of emitter windows but I like the designs for the Sentinel sabers though, just works for that one I think. Maybe some changes will be made by next month of their releases but keep the av switch option standard at least :P

That is because the new Ini's and Aeo-nix hilts now have claws and more elaborate pommels. Taking these things into consideration an extra $20 is a steal. The reason for the difference to the +$5 for the new Apprentice/Sentinel is because they only have new milling.

Sentinel/Apprentice = more machine time

vs.

Aeo-nix/Ini = more more machine time (more machining of hilt + machining of claws) + more metal (claws) + more assembly (putting claws on)

This.  Machining = more money and time for installation and what not. Also, the claws come anodized and are removable so for the price and what you can do to the sabers in the hilt alone, $20.00 more is still a heck of a deal.

Most of the time in any production rather a US saber or a new car the new version will cost more money, this is nothing new. Not only that but cost of everything goes up every year, we are lucky right now that prices on all sabers have not gone up $10 to  $20 or more this year.

They look nice, but so did the V4s. Although im not really a fan of the claws. The real kicker for me will be how they feel though. Ive noticed the upper choke point on the new Dominix/Aeon is completely slanted as opposed to the flat cutoff on the V4s, thatll make it about 1000 times more comfortable. Still kinda narrow though. Nothing beats the wide, slanted chokes on the V3s, hoping to see those again someday even if it limits the aesthetic space ever so slightly.

Edit: actually, looking at the pictures, the claws hang down over the upper choke making it pretty much completely useless with them on. Looks like this will be an either pretty OR duel worthy saber, but never both which is unfortunate.

From the Butcher/Savior preorders, I would not expect to see an update till at least, @ November 19th, with earliest delivery AFTER ThanksGiving (22nd). This is what I expect, because of TG falling where it does in the month.

I can be optimistic though because waiting for my preorders longer than that will drive me wacko. But, from the previews, they do look awesome and well worth the wait.

E-mail customer service and ask them. That's how people found out about the Savior and Butcher. They typically don't do a lot of updates while this sort of thing is going on, probably due to being busy manufacturing them and getting them ready.

I am thinking VERY seriously about pre-ordering that Dark Sentinel LE V5.   I love the redesigned vents!  That's what I was hoping for in one of the V5s!   I've always been an Aeon man, but I don't like the claws.  Sorry, personal preference, but I do like the grenade hilt...  :-)

I've always been an Aeon guy myself and I like the claws but for what I do with my sabers which is spinning, it would be more of a display queen which I will eventually still own since I like the line but I'll probably go with the Sentinel first since it appears to be more spin friendly

I am curious about the pommel as well.  I have a Dark Catalyst pommel kicking around to add a little flare to it if its needed, or I can swap my Dark Cat pommel back onto my Dark Cat and add the Scorpion (MHS) pommel it's currently sporting for looks...

I think I have an Archon pommel kicking around somewhere as well.

So there are options.  :-)  Also be interested to see what happens with the MB.  I would love a new Aeon V3 or V4.  :-)

That's the best way to go. :D Half the time, I forget to mention something in a video and it's a pain to reshoot. But, you can more easily edit text.

The blade socket looks to be two-toned, maybe machined wider with a sleeve?  I think that's what makes it look beefier, plus I think the higher choke point is gone in favor of the new windows.
I have access to a Dark Sentinel V4 LE, so maybe a side-by-side will be in order.  :-)

Dark Sentinel V5. Black everything. Black switch, black Covertec. Blue blade, though. Stunt config. That's if I can afford it with the empty I'm planning on ordering. If I can get both, that will put me in free blade plug territory. But, even if I can't afford both, I'm still in free shipping land with the empty, even after the discount, because it's a mid range hilt.

Those V5 sentinels are sweet. I eventually want to get the one with gold accents when the other V5 pommels are available so I can get one with the knobs. Probably sentinel yellow blade, but I think counselor green would also look great with that model.

Totally agree with you. I'm thinking aeon le v5 with SY or Emerald led.

Also a great choice. Once my Dominix arrives, I'll know whether I want to get it's light side counterpart. Not that i don't want one already, it's just a matter of when. So many sabers to choose from!

I placed my order on 11/12/18, and it is still showing "Backorder".  All I ordered was a Dk Sentinel V5 and a MB, so it has to be delayed for the V5.  :-(

Agreed.  But if the pattern they used with the V4 sabers holds, the sabers shipping as prizes are actually prototypes.  Which, honestly, I would be STOKED to get in my own MB or GB.   :-)   The first V4 Aeons appeared as raffle prizes back in the day.

The fact they are prototypes may add some value as well...but unless you know the person who actually got them as a prize, down the road we will doubtless see sabers claiming to be prototypes on eBay  ::)

I knew I would be waiting unless they decided to use the prototypes for orders. But when it said “backorder,” I figured I was going to wait regardless. Which is fine with me. Gives me something to look forward to, and pre-orders will get them straight out of the box when they arrive. Less chances for people to play with them and have possible dings or scratches.

Understandable that the few V5's delivered are probably prototypes. My 3 ordered V5 sabers are on backorder still too, September 28th and October 6th, respectively.

I'm also guessing that most of the UltraSaber employees are on vacation for this Holiday so anything in the pipeline to be built will take a bit longer. Happens all too often in online retail, which is why I usually avoid one time orders at this time of year.

Yeah I don't know if they are prototypes are not, from looking at mine compared to the way they are supposed to look I can't tell any difference.

Of course I don't make the rules about who gets them first, the raffle winners or buyers. But my guess is it is done this way too pump up the raffles.

I honestly cannot wait until my V5 shows up at my door. First lightsaber purchase and I'm very excited. I got the Sentinel V5 with Consolar Green, Lite Sound, Flash on Clash, ultra edge heavy grade blade, (free blade plug), covertec clip, covertec wheel, and at 15% off. May not have been 20% off, but I got the free random blade plug, so that should be exiting.

Yes I know, but it's cheaper to by a double blade than 2 sabers, with double blade, you only pay for the UEHG blade once, and the coupler is almost free.

Using the Apprentice V4 as an example:

2X Apprentice LE V4 stunt sabers in arctic blue with 24" midgrade blades, windows and AV switches is $190. Add $9 for the coupler, that's $199.

The Apprentice LE V4 stunt staff in AB with 24" midgrade blades, windows, and AV switches is $189. That's a savings of $10, making the coupler free. Then, if you change the blade length and/or HG blade upgrade, it's an even bigger price difference.

I'm tempted to use my Dark Apprentice V5 & Dark Sentinel LE V5 in a dual saber. I have them ordered for dual wield, but I did add a coupler and Dark Yari for some options. Can't wait for the V5 pre-orders to ship.

I don't mean to sound rude but it's the 30th is tomorrow and my order is still on backorder. I just don't know how my saber will be "arriving at your door in mid to late November." (as said in email sent 2 hours ago) I contacted several times and got the same sort of message telling me it is pre-order right now. If anyone has any update on when they will be shipping or anything about what the hold up is, please let me know. Thanks! I still have faith in Ultrasabers and my first saber order. Yeah, waiting for an order to ship after all this time is a new thing for me too. I have 3 pre-ordered V5's still not shipped yet.  If I had to wait this time for my first saber i'd be a bit stressed too. Course, I have about 30 sabers from various makers to fiddle around with so I have some distractions.......................

Yeah hold tight, if it was up to the crew at US everything would already be sent out. They are waiting to get the hold to put them together.

I would feel a lot better about waiting if there was some word from US. An email sent out or something. I don't need to know every reason why they haven't shipped out. :) But just something saying they are working on it would be enough for me.

I hear you on that.  I understand they're crunched and they may not know exactly when they'll clear the backlog, but it would be nice to get a weekly update on status when you have a backordered product.  Just a simple "We're running behind on receiving parts from the machinist" or "our vendor for (insert issue) is also backlogged..."  Its actually the silence that is hardest to take.

From another post: US did in fact have a bit of a delivery issue "upstream".  They plan to have all of the orders up to Black Friday out for shipment by 12/12 with the remaining order caught up to real-time by 12/19.   

To address the previous comment: It would be beneficial if this had been sent to everyone wtih a backorder on a V5, or even just posted in the V5 announcement thread by US...   hint hint.   :-)

That's the thing about new designs and lines being debut, back orders are going to be there since from a business since, it's hard to gauge what will outsell and what won't.  You don't want to many orders of a product especially if it's new and you're unsure if it'll sell well.  Then there's the time when they do outsell and you're having to order more which will take time for them to be produced and shipped to US.  No business wants dead inventory either like the 2 channel Emerald drivers

I'm not giving them any excuses but I've worked for plenty of companies in the past that orders products accordingly.   Now, an update would be nice, that would give customers a mindset that they will receive their products, a when and not an if.

In all seriousness, I am not upset with US and I don't think they're being unreasonable in any way.  I only wish they'd sent the statement Marlena gave to an inquiry to everyone with V5 backorders.  But if they meet these dates, I am content.  I will still have only waited for a month, and that's still faster than any other site with US' level of quality and workmanship. 

I agreed with you wholeheartedly, Karmack.  It would be great if they sent an email to all customers who preordered and are still ordering the new line.

September 28th order for my Dark Apprentice V5 has shipped and delivery due Friday, 12/7. Other orders due this week though are held back a day for This Day of Mourning, for our 41st President.

May also get delayed more because of weather out west.

Any word on when the v5 line will be available?

I believe the general consensus is they may be available on a regular basis via their website in a couple of weeks after the presale ends. That may depend on the number of orders vs. stock. But I would imagine once the shipments arrive (wich should be within the next couple of days based on shipping schedules) they will have plenty left to cover the Christmas sale. I would say if you plan to buy one, the sooner the better.  That way you’ll be among the first to go out once the stock is in hand.

Also gives you a chance to get in on their Christmas promotion and get some pretty hefty discounts and potential prizes  ;)

I got an email saying that it should take 12 days if you ordered it before Black Friday and if any time after Black Friday probably the 19th but it will be there before the holidays.

(FEDEX date states the 11th, but it's already out for delivery as of early this morning)

Of course, that was the bonus saber I bought with the rewards points after my purchase of (all stunt) an Aeon LE v5, 2 Sentinel LE v5s, a Sceptre, an Arbiter, and a Consular, which I hope will ship out by that December 12th date.

My hope is to hold out on the temptation so I can open then all at the same time and, perhaps, record it. ;)

I saw your post on FB previous to reading this. Looks like you got some good suggestions over there.

Concerning the LED retention screw, US doesn’t have them in most sabers I’ve seen. The LED holds fine with the blade or blade plug inserted. As far as the brightness factor, I have yet to see an US that was not bright.

My thoughts are that it seems you expected something else. There I can only presume, and I don’t like to make presumptions. An educated guess would be that you bought a saber(s?) from another company and have gotten used to features you enjoy on their product. I saw the FB photos and thought the Aeon looked very cool. Based on your comments, it sounds like the fact that it was all silver disappointed you. And on that score, it’s your saber and therefore “yours” is the most important opinion here because you have to be able to enjoy it.

Suggestions: Try the leather wrap idea, as previously suggested. US are designed for customization in terms of their base line. And an Aeon V5 with claws is a bit of an upgrade for their basic line, but the same motto still applies. Some have colored accents, some are solid silver or black finish. I would say give it a good test drive before you do anything permanent and void the possibility of exchanging it.  Get a feel for the saber.  These are designed for combat, spinning (although the claws on the Aeon and Dominix make spinning more difficult). Look at the overall aethstetic. And in spite of not having an LED retention screw, these are designed to be very sturdy. I’ve seen guys into heavy dueling with competitors sabers who looked pretty enough but were left with deep gashed after a couple of drops. US, under the same heavy conditions have gotten relatively minor scratches by comparison.

Also check out the forum and videos as to how they’ve held up 5-7 years later, what people have used them for, how they customized them. There are places on the forum here which display all that. I think in the end, you’ll find you indeed have something a little different than what you might be used to, but that difference is not really a bad thing. Everyone has their opinions, just as saber manufacturers all make them slightly differently in terms of design and features. Some will tell you anything without sound is just a toy, others will tell you the components used to install sound mars the actual scale in order to fit electronics, and is therefore just a toy.

Find your own way, I say. That might be sticking with your favorite company, or sampling the fruits of various makers to give your collection a sampling of each and some variety.

I have been a return customer of US for various reasons I could give you. But I’m going to let you make up your own mind. The two best pieces of advice I ever recieved on collecting anything is: 1) Collect what YOU like, and 2) Never collect anything because you want to put it in a closet and hope it gains in monetary value. Enjoy it. Play with it. And if it makes you feel like a kid again, congrats—you win :)

I watched alot of reviews and I thought I was getting something of better quality I should of just went with a mystery box saber I feel I over payed

Placed my order for an Aeon LE v5 back on OCT 22. Received nothing in the way of an apology from US, or even an email with a revised delivery window. Does anyone know when they will be shipping? I really need this before Christmas. Should I just get my money back in that case?

If I were you then I would shoot an email over to support first. They have always replied to me within 48 hours. I know the blades just started shipping out. I just received mine.

I emailed today. All V5 presale sabers will be sent out no later then Dec. 19th. So you should have it by Christmas. If this doesn't work for you then email them. Without even asking they offered to change my order to a saber that could be sent out right away.

People are starting to receive theirs now.  I really like the Sentinel and Apprentice lines

So...    Today is the 12th.   All of the pre- Black Friday orders are supposed to be shipped by today....

I just posted yesterday that I talked to them via email yesterday, they still do not have all of them in stock and told me they will all be out by Dec. 19th. So one more week for some of us. But of course it can be anytime from now till then.

Yeah.  I spoke with them Monday.   They quoted me the 12th date for pre-Black Friday.

I understand and can commiserate. My order was a little before Black Friday............October 6th. I'm not worried about getting them eventually, but like you, I would like to be in the loop. I'm not going to pester Customer Service though, they are doing what they can and having me keep annoying them would just stress them and myself out. Question on the sentinel. Can someone confirm the length. On the site it shows as over 13" but that seems much longer than the previous

In the video, I believe Emory said that it was the same length as the V4 (12.25 Inches) so it may be a typo but I don't know for sure. you could email customer service to get a for-sure answer.

So, I ordered 3 V5s on 11/16, and they haven't shipped yet, so I guess I'm waiting for the 19th ship date at this point. :/

I ordered the Initiate LE v5 October 1 as my daughter's Christmas present. If it doesn't ship by the 17th it probably won't make it for Christmas. Guess I better make a backup plan.

I believe anything mailed for 2-3 business days will still be okay if mailed by the 19th, as US stated. I know things can get sketchy around this time of the years, however. Late orders I’ve tried from various online shopping experiences have usually resulted in at least one of those orders not arriving by Christmas. So back up plans would be good as a safety measure. But since these were pre-orders and always arrive by the third day in spite of what the delivery date states—you still have a better than good chance.

Well, I had emailed [email protected] as Deep suggested ... and I received a nice note from Marlena yesterday stating that my order was on the fabrication floor and would be shipping within a day or two.  So I should get the shipping notification today.    WOOT!

Any updates on the Dominix/Aeon claw designs or is the bottom of them still kinda covering the top choke point? Thinking an Aeon V5 with black claws in Fire Orange would look sweet <3 :P

Down in the customizing section there’s a post of how the claws can be reversed and not infringe on the choke point—in case you haven’t seen it :)

Heres the link. Apparently, there’s two guiding pins that hold the claws in place and you can flip them the other way so the claws would be right side up. The claws are just pressed fit into the emitter. Use a prying tool and lightly pry it out

You need to create an account with a photo hosting site like Imgur or Photobucket. Upload your pics to that site, then copy and paste a photo link from there to here. It's a few steps but very simple, I'd recommend using Imgur as it's slightly easier navigate and more dependable.

So United States postal service is in possession of my lightsaber, and they said that it would be here by Thursday before 8 O'Clock. So excited got a sentinel LE v5 consular green with lite sound.

Has anyone's sabers from Black Friday started shipping yet? My fiance and I placed our order for our first US, and we're super excited. Unfortunately, we're about to leave town for a few weeks so we're trying to figure out what to do. Some of that time, we'll be in Houston, so we were even thinking we could swing by US and pick them up (if that's within the rules). I did email info@ and shipping@, but have no heard anything yet. My first email to info@ was about two weeks ago.

I ordered thanksgiving day and still hasnt shipped yet. So much for all the orders being out on the 19th. Really stressing now. Find it hard to believe that the website can be a xurate. It says orders placed today for any saber will still arrive before christmas. Super hard to believe when one ordered 4 weeks ago still hasnt shipped. This is the first time ive had issues with this company, but this is a huge problem. Would be one thing if they wouldnt have promised me it was gonna ship on 4 differnt dates, first nov 30 then dec 5 then dec 12 then dec 19, all have cone and gone. One very upset customer here!

I made 2 orders on November 16th.

The second order I made (for 1 saber) Shipped 12/6 and showed up 12/11

The first order I made (for 6 sabers, plus 3 (?) free ones (Initiate, Grab Bag, Mystery Box)), shipped 12/16 and is currently in Virginia (per Fedex). States that I'm supposed to get it by end of day tomorrow, but I don't find that likely, given my location, and last time Fedex didn't even attempt the delivery due to "weather"... it was mostly sunny skies and no precipitation that day... just pretty cold (for NH this time of year).

I'm a little bummed, cause I'm supposed to be out of town for this weekend. I hope a Holiday miracle happens and it shows up Friday....

Can't help with any answers but I can tell you that they will not allow you to pick up the saber from their location in Houston. I live here and have asked them this question in the past.

Curiosity: The pommel of the Aeon LE V5 looks like it is closed, right? Is it massive? How heavy is it?

By the look of it, those V5 stunt sabers do indeed have solid pommels. My Dark Apprentice V5 with sound has a hollow pommel but new design. My 2 V5 Sentinels are MHS compatible and I had ordered Emperor Hand pommels in replacement. I probably should have ordered those separately so I could have the both sets to swap out or use on different sabers, but Emory did state in the video they will be available by them selves. We just don't know WHEN.

I believe that you can get the pommels both closed and opened depending on if it's a stunt or a sound saber like the rest of the line up for the basic sabers.

Oh, absolutely agree, but I wish they were not just a big hole in the bottom for sound, maybe just a cross support, or something simple.

I just received my Apprentice LE V5, w/diamond controller and default pommel. It's just like my Dark Apprentice V5, with the same pommel with that huge honking hole in the bottom. I did a video, but most of it I missed showing the unboxing because, once again, it was windy and it blew over the tripod. When I set it back up, it was not focusing where I had initially set it up to show.

There are MHS compatible inserts you can buy. I believe there’s also a ring for the insert (sold separately) that lays around the outer edge of speaker where it would normally sit against the pommel which lifts the insert so it is not sitting flat against the speaker. Reasonably cheap and solves the problem of something accidentally sticking in there and puncturing the speaker ;)

Are you talking about the TCSS pommel insert? That is designed to suit at the bottom of the TCSS pommel and is held in place with a clap or o-ring. The inside of the V5 pommels are smooth, I just checked. So if you tried putting a o-ring in front of the speaking and then this insert between the O-ring and the pommel I think the insert would just fall out.

Are you talking about simmering else?

I agree with above, Emperor's hand pommels are super low profile and should address your concerns. I'm with ya, I don't like the gaping open hole either, should have at least a simple grill

Oh, I have the Emperor's Hand pommels for both my Dark Sentinel LE and Sentinel LE V5 and am quite happy with them.........................and the added cost. It doesn't phase me to have purchased those 2 pommels, but, as a default sound pommel, the one with the Dark Apprentice V5 & Apprentice LE V5 gives me pause. Right now I have a polycarbonite disc I cut holes into to let sound thru. The issue I have is because I let Family & friends borrow them to have fun with (well, the stunt and lite sound sabers anyway - they're meant to be beater sabers), but curious fingers and all that. I would feel better if the pommel wasn't a clear shot thru with a pencil, or fingers, or something else kids are want to push into that speaker membrane.

I also have several TCSS low profile pommels with D-rings for cosplay - but I would rather have UltraSabers get my money.

Ohhhhh...I figured there would be a way to hold them in there. When I get one of these pommels, I’ll have to do a bit of experimenting.  I was thinking of possibly these inserts would fit up at the far far end inside where the pommel threads up near the speaker and usually there is a ridge which holds the speaker from falling out. If the dimensions of the ring could fit in there like a gasket between the speaker and insert—provided the insert could fit over the threaded end and be held there without just falling out. But since I have no idea of the dimensions involved, further information would be needed.

TCSS insert dimensions: 28.75mm wide, 3mm thick
25.34mm inner width, 1.56 mm lip thickness, so everything being equal, the lip is about 3.4mm wide

Dark Apprentice V5 inner dimension is 25.9mm, so there's .56mm wiggle room, so the insert will be able to sit on the end, but it can move sideways a little unless the pommel is tight on the hilt. Insert adds 2.5mm to the total length of the V5 pommel, so it's pressed tightly against the speaker mount.

Excellent, Chalion...thank you for running the experiment. I was hoping it would be possible to gain some possible protection. I wouldn’t be overly worried if i had the open pommel on a stand or hanging from a clip, but if it’s being played with, or you have it around other object that might accidentally get in there—better safe than sorry, i say!

You can get gold claws now! I'd  get Dominix LE v5 with gold claws.

I ordered an empty Aeon during the flash sale last week, and I had it a few days later.

The regular versions of the Dominix, Aeon and Dark Sentinel all seem to be in stock, as they've been on flash sales recently. I don't think they do flash sales stuff that they don't have in stock.

If you want to be more then sure, do a quick forum search and see what people got from the mysteryboxes and look for a v5.
Or e-mail costumerservice.

But it's still a game of change, like they said in the video: "No one knows what's in the box."

This is exactly right... yes, it's POSSIBLE, but that does not mean that it is LIKELY.  The only thing you're guaranteed is that the saber you get will be worth AT LEAST the price of the Mystery Box.

So has anyone else gotten a V5 with claws yet, and now have small scar on their thumb? Lol After swinging mine around and it dug into my inner thumb a bit, not too bad but if you get one, just be careful while messing with it. Still love the deaign, may just have to grind down those edges

Some people pry them off and flip them round to put the round bit by their hands and the pointy bits forward.

They're  held on with little roll pins. Just a pressure fit.

Flipping the claws have been done, you'll just need to be VERY careful so you don't mar the aluminum.


Alternatively, a few people have sanded the claws to soften the pointy bits.
