I ended up deciding on a Prophecy v3 in Guardian Blue. Its my first saber, and hopefully first of many so I decided to just get it as a stunt saber. I figure that'll keep the cost down for now, and after I get a better feel for it and what I like I can order my next one with sound. After all the news about the battery case shortage I decided to go the Li-Ion route to speed things up (hadn't seen the notice that they expect to get the cases in today). Its more money now, but hopefully it'll end up paying for itself in saved battery costs down the road.
Placed the order last night and this morning I was thinking about when it would arrive. I figured with their backlog it'll be a while, but I ordered something pretty easy so hopefully I'll get lucky and it'd ship in a couple weeks. Plus maybe a week for shipping time, so perhaps end of February delivery. That'd be cool. I'd be happy with that, I decided.
Just checked my e-mail a few minutes ago. My order shipped this morning.
I guess the battery cases haven't actually arrived yet so they had time. I suspect if I ordered tonight, it'd be a good 2-3 weeks before shipping since they'll be hip-deep in filling back orders so the timing just worked out perfectly.
That was a nice job of under-promising and over-delivering, Ultrasabers. Nicely done.
Edit - I actually received my "your order has shipped" notice before I got my "your order has been received" notice.
