Just wondering if it is possible to buy one of the momentary switches(say the blue one) and put it in place of the standard on button on my initiate v3? Apologies if it is a silly question...

I believe the standard switch is a latching switch, so a momentary switch will not do the trick for you.  Also, I believe the momentary switches have an integral LED, which requires power, which will change the power budget for your sabre.

Another option is to find a latching switch like you already have that has a blue colored tip.  I did a video of a PVC saber I build and I found a latching switch with a red tip. 

Hope this is a suitable alternative.
