I’ve seen many people granting points and I’ve gotten some myself. How does that work? Do I need some sort of special permissions to give points?
I will give points to whomever can help me figure this out.

If you're talking about lightside/darkside points, those are just for fun. If you like a comment or video, you can award a point of appreciation to someone. If you meant purchase points, those points represent dollars that can be used at the time of purchase to help offset the cost of a new saber.

just over where the avatar is when someone posts. There is a "give Light side/dark side" points you can click to give a point to the poster. Under "force alignment"

You might have to be using the website itself and not Tapatalk, but if you look to the left of a member's comment, you'll see where you can award the points; an example is below, i circled the spot I'm talking about:  |
