can anyone tell me how i can change my profile pic please? i did the imgur trick. it let me add a new photo. but how do i save it?
when i return to my page, my pic is gone.

In my experience that one is a little touchy. If you have it on your computer itself, you can upload it directly, that's how I did my current one.

Don't forget to delete the "s" for that one. 

Also, I usually give that a double tap on the save...lol

I always double tap the "save" button as well.

I can't get mine to take.  It keeps flipping the URL to "http://"

Also, avatar pics can be hosted directly on here, so if you have a locally stored copy, you can just use that.

Twitter puts it back, doesn't like straight HTTP (a lot of mainstream sites are avoiding non-secure).

where's the upload?  I only saw 2 choices: use a canned pic, or personal pic by providing URL.  No browser upload option on that screen.

Same question; I also see no option to upload.  Do we simply use file:// instead of http:// ?

It's the third radio button down.  "I will upload my own pic".   That can be a file from you own computer or whatever.

Update:  janx, yours is done. ;)  Cyclops942, if you can't see it, just post the pic on this thread, and I'll take care of it.

No worries, Rapine... I have the picture I want, and I now have the (apparently-required) Imgur account to host the pics, so it's all good.

How are you people even doing this? I can't even find the option!

I use imgur (which I joined ONLY because I couldn’t get iCloud or Dropbox to work), and if you use the link that ends in .jpg (or whatever extension is appropriate), and then change https to http, that’s what worked for me.

It has to be a direct link to the actual image file, and you have to change https to http.

For instance, in imgur you can click on Get Share Links and you'll see several options.

One is called a Share Link and it looks like this:
https://imgur.com/gtKxDkf
That won't work because it's not a direct link to the actual image.


The one you want is the BBCode (Forums) link, which will look like this:

You will need to remove the img and the brackets and change the https to http until you're left with this:

Then you can use it as your avatar.

Man, they did not make that easy!

It seemed like the one thing they didn't want to do was disgorge a link in that format which would consent to actually function!
Even with the modifications you suggested, it kept coming up 404!
