Title: Greetings from the UK
Post by: decapod on February 25, 2017, 02:50:25 PM
Hello all,

I've been a long time star wars fan (since '77) and managed to enthuse my 12yo son too.

He's got many cheaper plastic sabre's and a full jedi costume which he wore to see Rogue One.
His only sport is fencing and has learned most of the sabre spins from youtube.

He's always wanted a good double bladed sabre.
After seeing a few US's at the london comicon I've taken a huge plunge and got him a phantasm V4 LE with V4 sound etc

It arrived last night and I've not shown it to him yet so it's going to be a bit of a surprise... I'll try and video his reaction :) :) :)

... Then I just have to turn him to the dark side ....

Hello and welcome to the forums,   The look on his face will be priceless!
It sounds like you may need a saber for yourself to duel the young padawan.  ;)

Welcome to the party.

Yes, the Dark Side is good. Er, bad.  Whatever, we have cookies and bacon!!!  We've got a good number of UK members here so you're in good company.

What color blades did you get for him?  I'm guessing Blazing Red, but Fire Orange, Pyrestone Orange, and Hot Pink are also approved (by me) Sith blade colors.

His reaction to seeing them will be awesome.  Everyone's reaction when you turn in on and hear that familiar hum will be beyond anything else.  As an old time fan, you might want to be sitting down when he turns it on.

If you have any questions, the magnifying glass in the upper right corner is the forum search, though it can be slow at times.  Anything you cannot find in the threads, always feel free to ask.  We're a good lot and will answer pretty much any question.

Welcome. It looks like everything has already been covered, so I'll just say hello.

Again, welcome.

Didn't catch the look but here he is once it was put together in the light rain and cold.
The video filter has changed the colours but they're actually amethyst and fire orange.
He's more LS, I'm more DS so we each have our own when it's split.

That video looks sweet,  I'm secretly starting to want a double bladed saber now.  Looks like he's getting the hang of it.
