My first "Build" The OB1 Arbiter

This is amazing work, I always thought the Arbiter would be cool if it wasnt so large, and youve accomplished that! Well done! I actually used an archon for my Obi Wan build and it worked well, but this one has a much nicer grenade grip than my version. The last time I worked with an arbiter was to make a Kanan build!

So I know I said I wasn't going to be doing any more work on this for a while, but I just couldn't leave it be. I stripped the whole thing down so i could take a couple quick "before" pics -



So I started out by dissecting a Dark Apprentice v4 with an Obsidian v3 that we had from a different Mystery Box. I was able to cram the v3 into this saber with the help of a few clocking washers to make some additional space between the speaker and the switch. That worked, so I decided to go for a v4. . I also recognized a need to upgrade my soldering iron, helping hands, and a few more tools. Especially since this has been fun and instructive enough that me and the kids are going to start getting more empty hilts and going from there from now on.

With the 15% Fall Awakens sale it was actually cheaper to get another Dark Apprentice v4 with the board installed than it was to get the board, buckpuck, a new TRI LED, and the speaker/battery holder

I was smart about the removal of the sound board this time and just left the AV switch alone, clipped my wires in a decent location, added JST connectors t the v3 and the wires from the switch and got that put back together.

So with a little bit of cramming, I was able to install the v4 into my project. So here it is -

Man, it sure is cool. There need to be some investment in soldering supplies in this house so we can do some complete builds too. So cool.

Okay. So here's my final build on this one. I was pretty satisfied with the last few changes I made except for the length. It came in at just over 13 inches, which was just too long. So I  went ahead and made a few more changes. I replaced the original "grenade" section with an identical one from TCSS that is powder coated in Black Matte Tuscan, and also the gear section with the gear style 2 powder coated in the same color. ( The Plasti-Dip would kind of glob up and it would peel off after a while.)
Then I replaced the 3" extension/Activation Box Stye 4 with a 2" F/F Connector with a Graflex clamp over it. I used a Graflex clamp switch holder I found on Shapeways, and a mini momentary switch I found on Pololu.
This was great, because it no longer has the AV switch posts inside the hilt and made some more room for the sound card.
Now it is about 12 inches, and feels really nice. I might play around with some different LEDs still. But this is pretty much the final build.

Ultrasabers Arbiter Pommel (same pommel as the Archon v2.1/3/1 Classic)

Ultrasabers Guardian Blue Tri-Cree with LED quick connectors
Ultrasabers Obsidian v4 Sound I installed JST connectors for easy removal

I would be willing to believe you could. I bought my first Ultrasaber just barely a year ago. I spent months looking at all of the different options when I decided it was time to get a new lightsaber - the last one I got was in 2005! I went with a US Graflex CE w/Diamond - partly because I believed it would be my only purchase for a long time - and also because I thought that there would be no way that I could ever install the electronics into an empty hilt.

Once I got that Arbiter, it called out, begging for me to do something with it. So I took to the forums, YouTube, and everything else I could and learned to do it. Sure I made mistakes, but that is part of learning and experience.

If I can do it, anybody can. Picture it in your mind, and make it so.
