I ordered my first saber with obsidian.  I was just curious, is it possible to mute the sound if I don't want to use it?

I believe so. If I'm not mistaken, you can select a certain sound in the Obsidian Launcher and at the bottom right, there is a slider (it's colored a whitish-grey color).  Slide it all the way to the left and it should mute the sounds on the saber.

What I would do is put a sound font on the saber (default, custom, etc.) and mute each file individually.  Then, download the sounds on the saber and when it's done, everything should be muted.

Yeah, thanks for the reply.  I've been messing around with the obsidian launcher this morning and assumed I could mute it.  I just wanted to make sure.  I could really see others in my house getting annoyed with the sound going off all day Grin

I've been so paranoid of tampering with my sound fonts, I still haven't hooked the saber up to my computer too see what all I can do with it...

Thankfully, I love the defaults and all the levels seem near perfect.

Found the wire, cut the wire, muted.  Can easily re enable it, thick I will put some kind of quick connect in it.  That obsidian software must be so old that it needs usb 1.1 and a 32bit OS.

You can get real fancy and install an aux button. A saber I have is rigged with a petit crouton and by holding the aux button down for 3 seconds before igniting the saber, it beeps (letting me know it will be soundless), and I simply hit the activation button and ta-da, silent saber. I imagine you could do something very similar with a US and your obsidian card if you look into it.

There's no aux sound font on the Obsidian, so it won't work that way, (but I love the aux button on the PC). Quick disconnects, or even a small toggle switch (that would be far easier to wire in and use) definitely works though.

I just stuff tightly rolled up paper towel in the pommel and barely a sound is made. Gotta love cheap, easy, and effective! Smiley
