Post by: Deep on May 02, 2011, 05:28:48 PM
Ready to build your own weapon? In our build your own lightsaber section we have all the parts you'll need to construct your own Ultra Saber. You can choose to build an Ultra Saber exactly as we do, or you can mix and match parts to create something custom to you. If you have questions on any of this, please ask on our forums: SaberForum.Com

The only technical assistance for the "Build Your Own Lightsaber" category will be on Saber Forum, NOT through our email. We highly recommend you create an account and join the Saber Forum community before first attempting a build on your own!

Fantastic news!  I'm already drooling in my head at the thought of an RGB Bane hilt with a Raven emitter with black spikes!   ;D

I literally had a dream about the Dark War Glaive when I was in the Bahamas a couple years ago! I saw the claws, the emitter, and the body of this awe inspiring lightsaber! I can't wait to build one! The dream became reality!

Hey

Any chance that the raven blade emitter will be an option on build your own?

Nope.  The Raven's emitter is part of the body, it does not come off.  The blade holder comes out of the emitter.  I'll have to make a video showing how that works.

I love that mixing and matching various pieces is an option now, for those who want to do the DIY saber.

If there's one thing I have to say about Ultrasabers that I prefer over other sabersmiths right now it's that you guys are very user-friendly and very innovative.  This is definitely a step in a good direction!

Just wondering if the new items in this section like the other activation switch are something that ultra can add on to our sabers upon ordering?

Depends on what you want.  That Anti-Vandal is momentary, so it won't work with any saber we currently offer.  Email us to inquire about anything else and you gotta be specific, like, exactly which part and which saber.

This is pretty cool. Do you, or will you, offer an assembly service for this? It would cost extra of coarse, but for those of us who aren't necessarily DIY friendly(like me) it would be well worth the extra.

Nope.  The Raven's emitter is part of the body, it does not come off.
Too bad, because that is one seriously sweet looking emitter; the only one I like as much as that one is the Shock emitter and the Shock LE emitter.

The Raven's emitter would not look right if it didn't square up on the body's centerline correctly.  See:

It would be off center if it screwed on.

We do not offer an assembly service for this right now, but that is not to say we won't in the future.

I'll keep my fingers crossed then! Thanks Ultra.

Currently offer? Does this mean you are making some sabers that will be compatible?

The one hilt in there was interested in playing with ISN"T MHS compatible.

Which makes me wonder, what is it that makes the Bane different?

RGB is the Red-Green-Blue option that ultra offers. Basicly you have 3 difrent colours you can combine to make new solours. 7 total i think. Red, green, blue + all their combos. All 3 buttons make kinda of a white light, depents on the batterys and led module. Thats what i read so far about RGB, search the forum for more info :)

I have two questions.
Does the Shock body have a Covertec clip in it already, or would one need to install it him or her self? And can we order a LED in a special color like yellow?
Sorry for the questions, I am planning on making a Light saber over the Summer and I just want to be sure on everything.

if you write in your comments that you want a special color like sentinal yellow or pryestone then they should for you. i've never got one with it but i've read several posts about it from people who have and i don't think it does on the D.I.Y hilt but the other does for sure

There is a good thread on custom work available if you want to weigh all of your options.  It's pretty cool what US will do to help you get a unique saber!

I look forward to seeing and pic posts you have concerning your build. I also wish to attempt a build in the near future and might start off with a Grab Bag to get the internals minus the sound.... One stap at a time... I very much enjoy seeing the process... good luck  ;D

I was wondering, will we ever see a straight piece of a hilt with the holes drilled in all ready? So pretty much, a staff meant to be just a staff. I know the battery replacement might be a little hard, but maybe a rubber parts or some sort of cover that will go onto the hilt? Kind of like taking batteries out of a toy.
