Title: Resolute's Video Catalogue
Post by: Master Resolute on February 07, 2019, 04:37:22 AM
Infinit, this one is your fault buddy :)

Youtube keeps taking stuff down on me, but these are the ones they let me keep. I've lost roughly 30 - 40 videos over the last 3 years or so. The active ones are scattered all over the forum but I decided to catalogue them here. I think it's a great idea for those of us that have more than a dozen or so. I was going through the demo section recently and was completely overwhelmed with how many there are. I was trying to focus on one or two people at a time and was having difficulty.....Having an area, much like Infinit's seems like a real good way to see an individual's progression over the days, months, years. So here we go...... I won't post all of my old ones, just personal favorites. Starting with a newer one.

I can think of quite of a few people I'd like to see a thread from....

this one is special because one of the members in now on the injured list and they did a great job. we use " freeform " choreography. no rehearsals. most of the time, we just say " hit me....we'll use the good stuff " lol. It's a JKD thing, hard for us to use ABC methods. Has it merits for film projects though ;D

Glad that I can be of service, Master Resolute! :)  Great videos you posted, I've watched most and will watch any that's posted here.  I shall follow this thread as well!  Great stuff! Episode Zero is still one of my favorites along with the versus video. I like the special effects on them and the duel wielding saber staff in the Day One for Fan Film video was awesome! Of course the video with attack angles using an actual sword is one of my favorites!

once the group projects cool down, I plan on going QRC crazy. Here's another one :)
Last clip is a little blurry, but it shows the new stuff I've been working.

Video removed per Resolute's request

if you want to understand the broken rhythm little flower, try snapping your fingers in a triangle with your dominant hand while you snap a square with your off hand. Once you can do that, you'll get it.  ;D >:( ;D

I still struggle with it to this day. sometimes I can do it, sometimes my mind explodes...

Amazing work, Master Resolute. I need to work on duel wielding. May need to get with you for pointers. I like your use of QRCs and you splitting from a staff to duel sabers and then back.

couldn't find a thread I thought appropriate then I realized I could just use this one.

Replacement armor for the SCA group. Hate wearing helmets, but it's required for the SCA group I go spar with. ( I'd rather use my fencing mask...but that isn't going to stop a sword and a half or an axe! ) A lot of the others use chainmail coif's with half helms (viking, roman, Celtic etc. ) I prefer Milanese. Control is always observed....but I still prefer full coverage.

missing the gorget, pauldrons and primary shield. ( I normally spar with two swords. )

Fun fact, this is the first costume I purchased. Didn't get much use.....I picked up a Ren set very quickly.

Cool armor you have there, Master Resolute. When I was scrolling through each photo, I was thinking to myself that even though it looks cool with a sword, it will probably look amazing with a lightsaber and sure enough, you did not disappoint.  :D

likewise my friend, Your dedication to training is inspiring.

We are working on a new project/s.

On the docket is " Project Sunkiller ", which will take a few years.

At the same time, we've decided to focus on " Into the Badlands: Circle of Vengeance ", which will begin filming in Jan of 2020.

Some Week one training sessions.  ;D

Wow Res, I absolutely LOVE your kit!

Being a bit of an armor nut myself, I like seeing fully functional ensembles that can withstand actual combat.  To wit, this is me wearing my riveted mail hauberk, coif, with gambeson and greaves:

Time for me to get back to it. Been focusing on Wing Chun, Kali and Savate in my absence. The school is way to busy for me to go back to doing seminars, so I decided to go back to training in the backyard in the interim.

Some old, some new. Just a new channel trailer. Tell me what you guys think. Looking forward to being a regular again. Keep on training!!

Some saber stuff, martial arts, literally whatever im into that week. Changes constantly.

Wont happen anymore moving forward. I was able to salvage very little.....Gave me a reason to refocus my efforts on other projects though.

He kept some of the Celldweller stuff. Trying to figure out why Youtube let's him keep those up....but not me. Interesting. I don't ever monetize any of my stuff.

Every time I see these things Ryan if makes me sad that I've got no one to work on awesome projects like this with.  Keep up the good work!

The Team has gotten quite smaller, but that's ok. We will rebuild soon. One day we'll get together and work on a fight scene!

It was brought to my attention that my QRC demo's were removed from this list. So here we go.

Working actively to get this thread cleaned up a little.

I was hoping to show you all our finished product. However, Dec 2020 I hurt my right knee severely and we are on hold. The beginning of this you've probably seen before. At the end we show our training speed.
If we discontinue this project I will share the raw footage as well. That decision is being made within the next month.

We used the variable speed training method to get faster and faster.

We didn't get to finish this project. Maybe next year. I'll share some of the raw footage before it touched any filters.

Had some tutorial questions. DC and Ven have many they could share.

start here. learn the pattern to break the pattern. ( there is no spoon... )

This one expands on a basic understanding of how to use the little flower ( obi - ani ) and plum blossom techniques. Please follow safety and do not use a sharpened weapon...

Remember, all of this translates to other tools of the trade.
