Holy crap man you did this one right. The Heavy Grade Standard was an interesting option to go with, but I do think its really gonna bring out that orange.

That was my favorite FoC when I was watching other peoples videos.

I just have one thing to say to you both on your new sabers...



Those are both ridiculously OUTSTANDING choices. I particularly love the RGBA Emerald driver on yours, shade_1313, because WOW are you going to love the deep blood red you can make with the help of that amber diode, and I love the idea of flash on clash to SRD, sllikskills, because the FoC color being slightly olffset from the blade color makes a most fitting, more subtle transition for that hilt, in my opinion, because that hilt deserves it. Good luck on the raffle, too!

As the (so far as I know) first Emerald/filtered colors crossguard saber guy, I like the Renegade setup, although I'm more of a fan of the Flamberge than the Renegade.  I have some small observations on such a saber.

You'll find it easier to try to match the color of the main blade to the filtered colors of the sides, than to set up a main blade setting and endlessly swap out discs or filters.

LEE filters are awesome for this application, and dirt cheap.

Some filter/disc colors you simply won't be able to obtain a perfect match for, mostly for reasons of relative brightness.  It's okay, there are a ton of color combos that DO work very, very well.  Dimming of the side blades by using filters/discs is a non issue, because the blades are so short that they still light up just as bright as the main blade.

If you want to do movie style blade flickering, it's best to treat it as a matter of setting brightness, not color change, per se.  In other words, with a good red on all three blades, I set the flicker such that the main blade alternates between R100 and R80, and the side blades between the same values for their own channel.

Also, I love the Graflex.  My next big Emerald saber purchase will be very similar, differing only in that mine will have both buttons bronze, no recharge port, no illuminated switch, and the button screw.

I look forward to seeing pics of both of these in the inevitable raffle picture thread.

Well...I was waiting on 2 gift sabers I bought in early November for a couple friends (Warglaive w/ Obsidian Lite Sound with a silver blade + color discs, a Flamberge v2 w/ Obsidian Lite sound with a red blade and fire orange port blades), as well as one for myself (Renegade LE w/ Obsidian Lite sound with red main blade and red port blades), BUT...  all three models are on backorder, and won't be finished fabricating until February.  And then...then Ultrasabers has to go and start a Winter Raffle, and of course I HAVE to enter that.

Hi MofM.  You are going to like the hand grips on that Dominix v3.  Just so you are aware, unless you order another pommel... it will come with the basic open hole one.  So you will need to be a bit more careful with the speaker exposure even though it is recessed deeper into the hilt.

Now here's the sadder news... unless things have changed... you cannot order a Tri-color plus FoC.  But the FO will look really bright and intense.

I just ordered a Xtar VC4 charger and extra batteries from Amazon. The XC4 has 4 recharge bays, can revive a dead cell, and it can charge regular batteries, too. That means a whole lot less clutter in my charging area with more batteries being charged all at once.

Looks to me the one bundle VC4 package on Amazon with batteries comes with batteries quite a bit stronger than what US  is offering. Don't burn out your electronics.

I ordered them all individually. No bundles. I ordered the exact same li-ion batteries I have from US. Thanks for the warning, though.
