I had heard many varied stories of the color produced from a SY MLS, but was nicely surprised by the color of this one. I haven't actually tried to make it on my Emerald saber though, but it would be a nice comparison.
I think the Emerald board does a much better job of regulating power to the LEDs than the resisters do. So it results in a better balance between the red and green. |

Hi guys, Iv narrowed my first ultrasabers purchase down to the dominix le v4 or manticore ce (not sure which one yet) in yellow but not sure whether to go AS with lee filters or risk getting SY as I have read about the potential problems with the led mix? What are your thoughts? unfortunately emerald is out of my price range  |

What are your thoughts? unfortunately emerald is out of my price range If you go with silver and colour discs you can get a nice sort of yellow even with the default US filters (combining the yellow and amber filters). That's the brightest colour disc combination which is a bit dimmer but still great. Using better filters (Lee for example) can end up brighter results. All the above I can confirm with UEMG blade, I guess any heavy grade solution would not be the best to use with colour discs. On the other hand I'm pretty itchy to get a SY saber sometimes but I also have read the concerns. Maybe it's really the emerald which gives the best result... |

I had read all the stuff about SY on here also. But went for it anyway, and I'm glad that I did. Mine is very even yellow and I love the color!  Got it around Christmas time. I will say that it looks SSOOOOOOOOOOO much better in the standard mid-grade blade  than the ultra-edge. Pics don't do it justice!! BTW, I got the Sentinel LE V4 in SY and it goes great with the gold accents! Hope this helps and good luck on your choice. |
