Hello everybody! This is Cang Snow, founder of Lightspeed Saber League and the requisite sport "Lightspeed-saber fencing"®. Our mission is to refine and promote a form of lightsaber-inspired combat that doesn't just look good, but is also SAFE and TRUE to the idea of a weapon that cuts through anything-- even itself. That makes us not just a sport, but a martial art as well, and one of the few light-based fencing organizations (LBFOs) trying to do that.

The path we've chosen isn't easy. This kind of combat is often non-intuitive, and we don't have centuries of manuals to learn from. We had to develop it ourselves. But I believe it was worth it to create something truly unique. Something that isn't just the lesser cousin of something with a longer pedigree.

So if you're interested to step into a sport that stands on its own, that has a legitimate and legally protected identity (registered trademark of Lightspeed Saber League LLC), and that does not back down from the challenges posed by an infinitely light, infinitely sharp weapon with no handguards, then I'd like to invite you to an introductory video-conference on Lightspeed-saber fencing® via Google Hangout. We will hold it on February 24th, at 1 PM Pacific Time. Links below:

We will go over the goals of the organization, what you need to start, how to begin working to build a club or school, and what support the home organization can offer. Other topics can include: techniques and strategies, how to run competitions, or anything else.

Like Obi-Wan said, it's an elegant weapon. And not just because it looks cool, and not because it's in the movies. But because in the history of martial arts, there has never been a weapon like this. And it is worthy of study and exploration. We don't do it because it's easy. We do it because it's hard. Join us.
