In terms of famous deaths, he counts. The judge put civil cases on television on the map. There'd be no Judge Judy, no People's Court, no Judge Joe Brown, whatever court show there is without the OG People's Court and Judge Joe Wapner. Never heard of People's Court. I do know who Judge Judy is though. So, that judge who died may be famous, but only within certain circles, so I would say it counts as a "famous" death, however, it doesn't count as a "celebrity" death. |

In America he is widely known, so perhaps not Global Celebrity but still qualifies as a Celebrity death. The Peoples Court was the First Reality court show first airing in 1981 with Judge Wopner as presiding Judge. It was something no one had really seen before on TV and it was immensely popular, which of course started the trend that gave rise to Judge Judy. The Peoples Court is still on today. |

Hmm. Not gonna bore the room, so I'll keep leave it as is. Although, Harvey Levin, founder of TMZ, although originally a lawyer, has been working on the People's Court for over 25 years. In America he is widely known, so perhaps not Global Celebrity but still qualifies as a Celebrity death. That's why I said "famous" death not "celebrity". I should have clarified that I class "celebrity" as someone who is known globally. My apologies for not being clearer on that point. Now back to your regularly scheduled programmes. BTW - Is anyone else going to be watching the Oscars? And on a completely separate note (and I know I'm biased) but my missus looks stunning and impossibly cute in her onesie. |
