Hello! I'm new to Ultrasabers and could not be more satisfied! I have been looking for an affordable combat ready, gorgeous looking/ feeling lightsaber, for soooooo long, and I've finally found the people to make them. Thank you Ultrasabers for the "Ultra-Excellence"!
Here is a link to my YouTube channel with my Archon V3.1 Review!
It is my first review, and is not scripted or rehearsed.

Hello Rhylis, welcome to the forum. That's a pretty sweet saber you've got there.  And I notice some spinning skills. Very cool. May I  suggest the Emperor's Hand, Spectre or the Bellicose as a possible next saber? They are all very nice. If you're feeling a bit darker in mood,  I suggest the Scorpion, Butcher or the Raven. Any (or all) would make a great second saber. If you have any questions, this forum is a fountain of information.  Just ask. Are you light side or dark side? (Grey for me)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the Archon 3.1, it's a beautiful saber and a must have if you're a huge fan of the universe.  I too prefer the 32" blade since the 36" blade is a bit too long for me and I'm 5'10.

Definitely nice :P Did you go for the tri Consular Green? I say go for a Pyrestone Orange Bellicose, black blade holder, bronze button, black av switch, long groove pommel, perfect Sith set up then :P

Excellent choice in saber. I have one in the Diamond configuration and it is my favorite, mind you I use the 2.1 emitter more than I should.

Malik Thanewulf:
Hello, and thank you for the warm welcome! I appreciate those compliments a lot!
Abd thank you for the suggestions as well. I know my next saber is going to be an Initiate V4, but guardian blue. I am super excited about that saber because the hilt style looks super comfortable, and reminds me of Star Wars Ep II style jedi hilts. My golden goal for a sith saber is two Menace se's with the adjustable coupler. Darth Maul's lightsaber is to die for(as Maul himself proved in the "1st"/4th film). But I will need to start with something else so I really appreciate those suggestions. Also I'm light, on the verge on dark. I'll just have to see what happens :p Again thank you for the support!
May the force be with you Malik Thanewulf!

Thank you very much! This saber feels awesome, it was my first one so I had to get one that was just "perfect" feeling, and that is truly iconic. I've always wanted a Luke saber, and I'm so happy to know that Ultrasabers has this! I cant wait to get my 32" blue initiate v4!

Thank you! Excellent suggestion. I cant wait to get a huge collection going. I just went with Heavy grade Ultraedge, just normal consular green.

BatMike90: Thank you! The diamond sound must be just gorgeous. My goodness. I rush I had known I could order both emitters at once, but this one is holding up. Either way I'm excited to build a collection!

Great Sabre Rhylis Ardhrn, My first sabre was a Archon 2.1, a bit different but I know the feeling of finally having that Luke saber you've always wanted in your hand, so yeah so glad you got to feel that, your passion for that saber really shows.

You've got some really nice moves in that video too - make sure to check the saber artistry section on here for some other great spinners, or to show off some more if you feel so inclined.

I truly am passionate about this saber and was really glad to to receive it. I absolutely couldn't wait. And thank you for telling me about the saber artistry section. I'll be sure to check it out! I love watching duels/duelling/new techniques. I also cant wait to see everyone's creativity and thought they've put into how they want to exist in the star wats universes. This is a fun time and I can tell a lot of people are just as passionate as I am if not more and it's so great to see.

Thank you for the compliment on the moves.Lightsabers are just too much fun, I love the style of combat, how it functions and I'd love to learn more about traditional kendo swordfighting styles.  I wish I was outside for that video! I also wish I wasnt doing it on the fly lol:p

Cool review and some really good moves there, Rhylis - nicely done! Just like you, I am also a proud owner of the Archon v3.1 and I totally agree it's better without a classic rectangular switch. It definitely has its weight but it is nicely balanced at the same time and feels very comfortable to swing:)

I use it mostly for solo practice, shows and form demonstration which I think it is the best fit for, considering its iconic looks:) I haven't used it so far in a full contact duelling, but it should do the job just fine - I just tend to be a little overprotective about the hilt:) It surely is durable and feels reliable, still for a full contact I would probably keep an eye on its thin detachable neck which might get sometimes a little untight or unscrew with a violent swinging. The blade holder might also need some attention as it is quite shallow and the blade could tilt during the fight. Have you experienced any of those with yours?

Hey STR4N6ER, and thank you! I wish I was more sure of what to say being on the spot in the video, but I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you again.

I feel the exact same way about my archon. I honestly would rather just have it for personal use/display/events/photos, but I'm waiting on a response as to how much it will cost to order a new retention screw(s) for my Archon V3.1, because unfortunately after taking the blade on and off only a few times, the hex shaping in the screw has been stripped!

Luckily I managed to get it in there very tightly before it stripped. So I dont think it's coming out. I've tugged and shook and bent and there is no give to the retention screw's tightness(THANK GOODNESS).

I do habitually pull on the blade from the emitter after and during use with just a bit of force and try lightly to turn the blade in the emitter to see if the bite mark in the blade from the screw has grown in size from violent swings. Alas still no give from the screw. It's just a bummer because I have no choice but to keep the blade in there. A US rep had told me I could use superglue to remove the screw, then use acetone to remove the hex key from the screw. But I'd like to be able to put it back in. Will acetone stain/hurt the metals colour in any way? I'm still waiting to hear about new screws.

The one thing that bugs me about the saber is the wobble in the blade. I just ordered an Initiate V4 last night, dont feel any reason to be nervous about that blade that ive heard or seen  from anyone.

I dont feel the wobble while I'm swinging it, but when I bluntly stop and reverse a spin I can really feel it, and it makes me nervous because the blade only sits about 1" give or take in the emitter. So I'm afraid where the blade rests around the the light source and poly is thinner, it will likely eventually crack and snap the blade off. I'm hoping not. Regardless that is my FEAR. I love this Saber abd cannot wait to try full contact duelling with it. I will use caution as I have been though. Over all I love this saber! It's why I bought it! I appreciate the confirming advice STR4N6ER!

Might I add, that the US rep was very helpful through many e-mails, and I'm very thankful. Its just unfortunate that I'm still waiting for a response on the screws.

...
...
I appreciate the confirming advice STR4N6ER!

Sounds like a tough call with that screw - maybe some kind of very thin pliers or forceps would do the trick (although it's hard to find tools THAT narrow):/ One way or another, I hope the issue will be solved soon.

This wobble you mentioned, I think I had the same impression when I first tested my Archon - I could hardly feel it but it was noticeable. At first, I simply tried for a few times to adjust the blade better and for most of the time it worked, only really rapid opposite swings made it wobble a bit. To eliminate it for good I decided to put a thin layer of transparent office tape at the bottom of the blade, just to make it sit a little tighter in the emitter. And it seems to work like a dream for me - no wobble so far:) It also looks like it prevents the screw from deeply puncturing the polycarbonate - but that might be just my impression.

Anyway, the blade sits just fine, which is great considering a little shorter space in the emitter/blade holder for that kind of a saber:)

Wow! Thank you STR4N6ER! I had never even though of that solution. I'm definitely going to try it when I decide to take the blade out.
I think I'm going to customize the archon, and just mainly use it on my own.

Thank you very much Zren Tobas, much appreciated. I was trying to make it Anakin style, but I dont have shiny material, so I decided to make it my own :p (cheap way to be creative I know). I think I'm going to be doing more to it to make it more my own.

Agree with you statements about the activation box getting in the way. A part of me wants one with the box, but how much will i use it for more than just admiring it? When the time comes to pull the trigger on this one, I’ll probably just get an archon and purchase one of the Graflex clamps with the box on it for display and then I can take it off when I want to actually want to spin the saber.

Congrats on the raffle win StoryDtechtive! And nice collection. I would advise extreme caution when dueling with the archon v3 You might as well purchase an Archon V.2 neck with the V3 saber. Keep the V3 emitter for admiration, because my goodness is it beautiful. It's fine for self use but will bend from duelling. I learned the hard way Haha. And that sounds like an interesting idea with the graflex clamp. I'd love to see how it looks when/if you get it. Super comfortable saber though abd totally worth it to add to your collection. It was my first saber abd I'm now using the body as my main customized saber.

Thanks for the kind words.  I spin, but I don’t duel. So I think the archon is pretty safe in my hands. I love the skinny neck. The version two is nice but I like the brass fitting. Aside from the activation box that one is pretty spot on from the movie.  And movie accuracy is it always the most important thing, sometimes as we’ve discussed, it does get in the way of functionality.

No problem! The V3 emitter does feel really nice and I'm really excited for you to get this saber. It's very authentic looking and that's what I loved about it from the beginning. I HAD to get it. I'm glad you're looking into it. And thank you for looking at my review! I'll have more up soon for more sabers.
