Title: Staff/pike wood extension
Post by: Solstice Lacer on February 22, 2019, 12:50:44 PM
A preview of my latest project: I got a little male/female adapter from tcss, and snugly fit it with high strength epoxy onto a poplar dowel, cut to length and lightly sanded. Currently waiting a day for a full cure, and I might do a stain and/or wrap on the staff. Then I'll post completed pics :)

Took some pics of the finished staff/pike. Decided to pop a Lee 738 jas green filter in.

That's some nice work right there. Good idea, mixing a coupler and a dowel to make a staff.

Nice one. point for the pics.
Some clear polyurethane would help protect the wood and it has a slight gold color to it which would go great with your saber.  ;D

Thanks all :)

The balance point ends up right at the grooved grip section, just below the lower choke point. I tend to put my top hand on one of the choke points and my lower hand on the wood. So it is pretty nicely balanced in handling. Of course the extra length does require an adjustment in technique.
