Title: Backup Weapons
Post by: Jammo on March 07, 2011, 09:17:20 PM
I've seen a thread or two where blasters and the like have been mentioned, so I figured it deserved a thread. Any favored backup weapons? I've been plotting a blaster carbine carried Ash "Boomstick" style for some time.

Backup weapons? I'd have to go with a Mandolorian Iron knife and a handgun of some sort.

A slug pistol would be kinda bad ass...

Throwing daggers, knife, and probably another short sword. On one of my other costumes Ive got two swords, a couple handguns, knife, and also putting some grenades, bigger gun, and more ammo clips. Maybe another pen, too

I was thinking about making grenades but I figure that they won't go over well in these days of terrorism and all that...

My favored backups to the saber are the DH-17 for any prolonged combat, or an E-11 if more easily attainable at the time, followed by a DL-44, and a Slug Pistol tucked neatly under my flight jacket 'Dundee Style'. Of course, out of all these I've only got the DH-17, and a half completed DL-44 (waiting on the blasted parts... XP).

I'd also like to get some Thermal Dets or Grenade type weapons of similar nature.

I think there are ways to design them to look good, but not dangerous per say. I mean, I always try to consider what to take whatever I go. Appropriate and what not. Some places can be pretty picky on things. My buddy han solo has some trouble with his blaster every once in a while.

My lightsaber pocket knife has gotten me out of some tough spots...

Well hey, my old DL got me in trouble with a squad of Imp Plastic once. *shrug* Probably would have been fine if I hadn't actually drawn it on one of em'... XD

Speaking of lightsaber pocketknives... funny thing. My Prophecy hilt happens to fit perfectly in the knife pocket on an old pair of US flight pants I've got. ;D

My backup weapon WOULD be an ultrasabers lightknife, you know, an initiate-sized hilt with a blade about 6-8 inches long...

winkwinknudgenudge Ultrasabers

I've also been known to use my Dragon Dagger. ;D

I think a little Mara Jade style hideout blaster would be pretty rad too...

THAT... kicks it. Hard. And if we're gettin' heavy duty with our 'backup weapons' I'd like a Gat Blaster, please. I owned with those in BFII

I thing the Shotgun from Battlefront would make short work of my enemies. :)

Yeah, some might call the rocket launcher more primary...

Title: Re: Backup Weapons

*shrug* Some might. I used to snipe people with mine in BF. My friends hated me for that...

Force; Choke, lightning, and ripping something down from a wall or ceiling and dropping it on the person. Of course A blaster of some sort was always carried by early jedi and Cade Skywalker in Legacy.

Yea, a blaster could give you an edge from time to time.

Two Words:

FORCE LIGHTING

;)

Two Words:

FORCE LIGHTING

;)

which can be 1) parried with lightsaber or 2) blocked with bare-freaking-hands.

Force Push, on the other hand, is much more practical, versitile, and effective especially when combined with telekinisis.

My secondary weapon is MORE LIGHTSABERS. I've got so many hanging from my belt it looks like I have a metal kilt on.

...You can have as many as you want since they have fewer calories. XD

Gotta go with the offensive force powers - force grip, lightning, etc. Apart from that, I always thought the DL-44 was a cool weapon, sort of a gunslinger's blaster. Maybe just because Han Solo used it.

Aside from the fact that it's an exceedingly rare technique that would be nearly impossible to learn without developing it on your own since few people in history even know of its existance, it's not a very fast or practical ability.

True....but then again you don't know how long I've been perfecting this technique! For me it's fast and practical! ;D

Not a secondary weapon, just the BFG in my arsenal.

But of course, a sith wouldn't know anything about that.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge

However, in terms of trolling, there sure are a lot of sith in the jedi holocron, aren't there? Too busy trying to see who has the bigger lightsaber to actually accomplish anything meaningful and too caught up in trying to provoke the jedi to care about anything else.

Actually, I think my Brothers spelling might have been on purpose. Kinda implies a "redneck" Jedi with low-tech skills.

I thought of that as well, however it still reflects poorly on him even if that was the case.

Honestly, if he's your brother, then that makes you your brothers' keeper, so go keep him somewhere else. Like a small, dark, air-tight someplace else.

Are all sith as annoying as you? You make Anakin and Jar Jar almost preferable. Maybe that could be your handle: "Darth Irritation - Utterly intolerable yet unsuprisingly ineffective and harmless"

And your handle can be: "Master Troll- Utterly intolerable with his inflammatory posts which try to elicit an emotional response from those they are directed at, and otherwise disrupt on-topic discussion in favor proving the Jedi's superiority and failing epically."

I second the grenade-stuffed Ewoks. I put aside my Jedi ideals to enjoy the DLC of TFU 2 recently, there's nothing quite like using Ewoks as projectiles (or frying them with lightning)

Do me a favor. Go find the ewoks, go into force-crazy mode (where you go all sparkly glowy with the force) and do the x+a grapple combo then just keep tapping x. Best. Thing. EVER!

Ewoks are meant to be killed. As in Star Warped (la Galère des Étoiles pour les francophones qui passeraient) the video game, where Vader is motivating you to push them off a bridge with a staff. Very very fun.

Darn thunder and Lightning storms wreaking havoc with my computer...must be a sith lurking around. Anyway, If interested, www.jedi.robe.com (http://www.jedi.robe.com) has a "Han Solo" blaster. Its multi-colored of course, but could be spray painted.
