Hey  ultrasabers fans!! I have pics to post of my crimson scorpion with  tri cree Aegean silver blade and my 4th place saber a dominix le v2 with bright red blade. I am having a problem using a tablet to post them.Does anyone have a easy way to post them?

Diamond Dark Prophecy, RGBA, Black non-illuminated AV switch, EH pommel, UEHG blade.

Apart from the pommel and blade, it looks exactly like my BH V4 sound Dark Prophecy.

Once you hit that AV switch, though, things change.

The first thing you might notice is that the font configurations take advantage of effects in a variety of ways.  Not every font has the same type of effects loaded, though, so while one font may have the color change and then fade back to the base color when  you do a stab, another might not.

First font is the default Obsidian font, paired up with the colors you selected when you ordered.  In my case, that was DVA with a VA FoC:

Then, Blackstar paired with a yellow blade:

Then Ancient Saber, which has a really neat effect built into the power down sound.  If you're familiar with Ancient Saber, you remember that slow, gradual power down sound.  Well, they've matched the light intensity to that power down sound.  The blade color is Orange:

I've mostly got the hang of using the onboard menu access and selections.  One thing I've found handy is to rest the tip on something when  you do the initial two quarter turns to access the menu, it keeps the saber more stable and more prone to recognize the command.

I'm looking forward to playing around with the capabilities of this a lot more, later, when I have more time.

These sabers have all exceeded my expectations and then some. The Crimson Scorpion is my favorite of these three. The anodized red on the hilt is so beautiful and pristine with the silver accents!  A delight to wield and grip and to me, anyway, not to heavy, and the Diamond board is pure evidence that the Force is strong with Ultra Sabers.  I love this new saber tech.

I won a First Place Price in the Spring 2017 raffle, and I received the shipping notification (yay! ;D), so more pictures of that and the winning raffle entry forthcoming next week.

Awesome looking sabers, bigBear, shade and LB!  I love the Archon 3.1 every time I see it (need to get one) and that Dark Prophecy is just sick looking.  ;D  And LB, you're sick, brother.  But it's a good kind of sick. (saber fever, I think :D)  You got a saber I want (Archon 3.1) and one of my favorites that I own, the Dominix LE V2.  I already gave you a point for your Mantis review, but points for bigBear and shade for sharing.  8)

Oh, something I ought to have mentioned.

Normally, on a Prophecy or Dark Prophecy, the LED unit is positioned low enough that the hole in the side of the hilt that is nearest the emitter acts as an emitter window, with the color of the saber blade shining through it.

Not so, on a Diamond.  I guess there's just so much stuff crammed in there that the LED unit sits higher in the saber, so through the "upper" hole you see the side of the LED unit's housing, and through the "lower", I can see the base of the unit.

Not sure if it'd be worth it but a guy could thread one of those for a set screw as an LED retention hole. Keep the LED from pressing down on the internals - not that it's a big concern of course.

I don't know about threading them for a screw that would be intended to bear up against the LED unit, but since neither is any kind of emitter window, I might fill them with something.  Probably not a screw, since I don't really want to pull all the internals out just so I can thread the holes, but something.

Congratulations on your new Scorpion, Archon and... I'm pleased to be able to tell you that it's not an Apprentice LE you have there, that's a SENTINEL LE, dude!  :o  Congrats!  ;D The Apprentice LE is the little brother to the Sentinel, where it's shorter with only one choke point, so you scored BIG TIME! The Sentinel is fantastic, and the LE version even better! I have the Dark Sentinel LE myself, and it's like the Dark Horse saber around here. It's one of those you don't truly appreciate until you own one.  Points for the photos and congrats on the new sabers and raffle win!  ;)

So welcome and thanks, too! Boy, that brings back memories of when my children were little. Being a good Dad, you are! Fortunately, it's a mutant ability all Dad's are born with, to grow back limbs lost in lightsaber battles, like Monty Python, only you get to duel again and again and again  ;D  Get back in there and lose some more limbs!

Indeed! My next venture is teaching them the flow arts and actual dueling skills. I think my wife is going to steal my crimson scorpion too lol. She doesn't get it till she learns the basics of dueling and how to use a saber. I really like all the sabers i currently have though 3 out of the 6 are Guardian Blue lol! So far only 1 true red darkside my oldest son and a dark/light mix. Im using the scorpion as a sith weapon (if purple counts seeing as the red can seep and bleed into a blue kyber crystal i think?)

Oh I think the Scorpion is definitely in the realm of being a Sith saber, and the Violet Amethyst looks really nice with it. It's more of a Gray Jedi color, but it can swing to the dark side or the light side, so yeah, it's perfect!

I think after doing my Kylo Ren cosplay ill make a Grey Jedi costume as thats what i think i'd personally fall under. Btw hows the Diamond Controller coming along? My next saber will likely have it and just so im clear with the emerald version you can change the blade color on the fly right (or by using the application on pc i mean) instead of being locked to one color or MLS unit?

Sounds like a great idea, because you can be as creative with it as you want then. I was looking at Count Dooku and thinking I might like to do something like that with a shorter cape or something with an angled cut. Definitely want to lean more to the Dark Side but not all the way, like a Mace Windu gone a little further towards the realm of a Count Dooku.

The Emerald sabers allow you to change to any color, but only by plugging it into the PC.  The Diamond sabers allow you to do that PLUS once you've programmed blade colors and sounds, you can change on the fly without being plugged into the PC.  The Diamond board is, in a word, though not a big enough word, AWESOME! You get 10 saber fonts comprised of color/sound combined (the last one is silent (muted)), and these come pre-programmed from Ultra Sabers (but you can change them while your saber is connected to your PC through the software) with the main blade color and flash on clash type effects for gestures like stab, swing, block ,etc., so you can cycle through them easily by going into config mode, which is done by pressing and holding the AV switch and doing two right quarter turns of the hilt, like your opening a door. Once in config mode you release the press on the AV switch and do one quarter right turn to go forward through the saber fonts or one quarter left turn to go backwards. Once you reach the one you want, you press and hold the AV switch for a couple seconds to confirm.  Side note on that - because you're now using the AV switch in this manner, to power off the saber requires holding the AV switch about 4 seconds instead of 2 seconds, and I'm guessing it's because the 2 second hold is to confirm saber font selection. I haven't tried programming custom gestures yet, but will eventually.

Oh nice! currently both my Crimson Scorpion and the Archon v2.1 are both just v4 sound without emerald but i think the next if i can will be a curved azure reaper with an orange blade and diamond controller. If US have any left at Dragoncon and i actually have the cash for it ahah! gotta start saving now :P

That sounds awesome though. Really having fun with just the sound fonts and have been on the search for more for my Archon. So far ive left it on a really nice Episode IV soundfont with the really meaty saber sounds.

Yeah, very nice, huh. In fact, she's got her own saber on display in that very room, the Standard Issue I won as the Second Place Prize in the Winter 2017 raffle, so she's cool with it. She was filming us. :D We don't duel that often either, though.

I have to make my young ones duel outside. They try dueling inside but the tv is so vulnerable when they do.

He hasn't actually practiced in years, but way back when, he did Katana fighting. And, like he said, he's no expert. Fair disclaimer.

There are some really good spinning and even dueling tutorials here on the forums i've been using. Show those to him i've been using Darth Cephalus' videos to learn some really good spinning sets and what not. Definitly worth a look for him if he wants to shake all that rust out!

I haven't had time to get a picture of my 4th place prize (or really play with Diamond, for that matter), but it was a really nice Dominix v4 w/ Windows in Blazing Red.  :)

I'm planning, however, to gift that (and my previous 4th place prize - a CG Sentinel) to my Neighbors; their son will flip.   ;D

The brass part swaps is genius! Where did you get the brass insert and pommel? TCSS for the pommel? Anyway, it's a beautiful, rustic looking saber. Nice mod! Point!  ;D

So here's my entry - my Archon v2.1 after moving some stuff around.  Thinking I may call it "The Phantom"

Rocking a photon blade with Arctic Blue powering the ghost green photon colors.  Seriously, if you don't have a photon blade, they're so worth it; lots of fun, ultra-ridiculous bright if you power it with the right mixtures of light.

The emitter and choke extension came from TCSS, and the pommel is one of my Renegade emitters.  With a blade installed, the extension and heavier emitter give the saber a really well-placed balance point, and makes swinging it around almost weightless. 

Been having a blast with it; haven't gotten into messing with changing the Diamond channels yet, but I'm getting there.

These are the newest additions to my collection. They were delivered today. The Electrum Wind (Diamond config.) was what I ordered and the Scorpion (Second Prize, Obsidian board, BR) was my prize from the raffle! I was going to make an order for the Scorpion in a few weeks, I was certainly not expecting to get the exact saber I was wanting as the random prize. Now that I've handled a V2, I like them more than the V3's for grip and looks which I was surprised but shouldn't have been - it's a combat focused design.  I prefer the V4's out of the lot but like this Dom V2 in Red, The Force knew it would be perfect like that.

Hmm... I guess I'll have to try out a v3 so I can understand why. I find that the Dominix v2 slides around in my hand a lot more that I'd like. I also found that the best place for spinning them (as in most comfortable) is the smooth emitter, and not the grooved point between the switch and the emitter like I initially thought. One thing I don't like about the v2 is that the retention screws do not go into the hilt very far with a HG blade, which makes it a little more uncomfortable. But a solid black hilt in BR would look amazing.

The retention screws don't go all the way in with the reg UE blade it came with either.

And you know, you might love the V3's because it's all subjective and personal preferences, I like blunter edges to hold onto and the V2's and V4's offer that whereas the V3's have those smooth and narrow sections to hold onto - and many people love that and like it much better. 

It's worth checking out because I would've never had much good to say about a V2 until I tried it.

Sweet. I now know my own future! I wonder what the repercussions of knowing too much about my future will be? I guess we'll find out.

That package weighs three pounds, which I would guess accounts for two empty Reapers (those claws, based on experience with Scorp claws, are not insignificant weight compared to an empty hilt), so probably not.  I'm trying to not make a pain in the butt of myself, so I'll wait until next week to inquire, if I haven't gotten any word before then.

Maybe it's that the Scorpion is now out of stock, and they have to wait.   ;)

My reaper has Red/Green in the blade and red ignition switch.  The wiring seems funny, though.  The "red" channel is red for the blade, the "green" channel is for the red ignition switch, and the "white" channel is for the green blade color.

Man, that curved Reaper that JdiKnhtJMH won looks INSANE!

A grab bag Standard Issue saber also with grab bag blade by the look of it, that I paid to upgrade to Diamond. It has the US logo engraved on the back (I think it's engraving. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) and I remember someone saying that those sabers were pretty old con sabers or some such? Which would make sense because this one has quite a few war wounds.

don't think I've ever seen a hilt with the US logo on it like that. so that's extremely rare or something really old and obscure. either way, quite impressive.

The sabers with the logo were fairly common in grab bags about two years ago... say summer of 2015.  Mixed reviews from members about liking a brand on their saber or not and where it should be placed.  But most of us agreed that owning one stunt with the logo was cool.  :)

WOO HOO . . . . my delivery arrived late yesterday with my Entry & Raffle win . . . . what was inside the box ? ? ? . . . the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, hehe  :P

The Good ;
Entry . . . Diamond Dark Prophecy . . . AMAZING . . . AWESOME . . . I've made a slight hilt adjustment (I'll explain that later, when I can get some pics up) and it feels just sooo niiiice to weild . . . and so far, my first impressions of the Diamond controller are REALLY GOOD, can't wait to find the time to play with the settings . . .

The Bad ;
Well . . . not really bad, just frustrating, lol . . . after putting fresh batteries in the Dark Prophecy, I really struggled to get the battery pack / Diamond back in the hilt without putting pressure on the wiring (that's how it felt) . . . It might just be because of the limited space inside a v3 hilt? . . . and I feel I have to be extra slow and careful changing batteries, or I guess even connecting to my PC to make Diamond changes . . .

The Ugly ;
My second prize win . . . . a Monarch . . . . cool setup, with CG blade, white FoC, v4 Obsidian (awesome), and an av switch (thank you US) . . . . but . . . . and I guess it had to happen at some point, of all the US hilts I've played with, this is the first time I can't find something to like about one of these hilt designs . . . I'm really trying, but I can't . . . Isola loves his, it's his most comfortable hilt, and he's already given me some tips on different ways to grip it, but, at this stage, I can't find a way to make it feel comfortable to me . . . I'll give it some time, and see how I go . . .

I guess, each of us have different tastes, and so far the Monarch is not doin' it for me at all, lol . . . there's a first . . . for me  :-\

Hazard, I do like how the Dominix looks, both with or without windows.  Having said that, respectfully, I think I prefer windows  ;)  But: to each their own  8)

Absolutely!  My fav grip point is where the windows sit and that's why I'd go without but it does look sweet with them!

Oh good point; I had not considered the practical reasons to go "windowless."  On that point, which saber body would you consider the best for spinning, combat, etc.  I'm trying to work with my graflex (which looks great) but is somewhat difficult for me to utilize effectively (I figure that I can get another saber w/ a more ergonomic hilt and practice first with that to build up some skills before transferring back to the graflex  ;)).

Finally someone understands!  The veterans know all about my pure hatred for this hilt, it was well known even before I won one as a first place prize in a raffle (I think US was trolling me, lol)  But i consider my opinion of this hilt to really hold weight more with people now because i have owned one and held it in my actual hands.  It's terrible to look at, and easily the most uncomfortable hilt I have ever held.  I could not find any way to hold it that wasn't irksome.  Now you understand why I was so.......perturbed when I won mine.

Sentinel . . . any variation you prefer!


And, if you really want windows, it doesn't matter on that one like it does on the Aeon / Dominix:

@Dutchman, but Blazing Red is empire kinda colors for lightsabers so more like you'll feel like you can run the entire galaxy rather than the empire :P

Agree and to add, almost any V4 series lightsabers ... amazing to handle and IMO nicer styling than the V2 / V3 hilts.

I prefer the V3 Aeon/Dominix/Initiate style over the V4 when it comes to looks but I haven't had any of those V4s in hand so I can't be certain about that assessment. The Sentinel is a great hilt though, looks good with or without windows and is really comfortable to hold.

Zren, tbh I had no idea what to expect, other than some suspicions based on what I'd seen other First Place raffle winners get for their prizes, like the Monarch and Reaper, but I love the Guardian, and what Ultrasabers sent me with the nickel plating, Emerald RGBW and illuminated AV switch is absolutely gorgeous and mind blowing. If I'm being honest, though, I was really surprised to get that specific hilt, considering I had one already as the Grand Prize in the Autumn 2016 raffle, but then I recalled another forum member who had 4 Scorpions and 2 or 3 of which were from raffles, so there's that to consider, too, and really, can't complain one whit - it's a gorgeous saber, one of my favs, and it was a gift from the greatest company making sabers in the world.  :D

Very nice indeed LB.  I want a Chosen One so bad. :P

I've always liked the Prophecy (I have a GB silver one), but it's just a little short for me and recently I remembered a solution . . . Using a left over part from this project http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=31672, specifically one of the Side Blade Extension pieces, and adding it at the pommel end, just about makes this Prophecy the PERFECT length, for me . . . . even more perfect than the Sentinel ? ? ?  :o

I feel somewhat bad . . . I am grateful, for my prize, and I really am trying hard to find a way to like anything about this hilt . . . And, putting aside that this hilt doesn't appeal to me visually, it's mostly that I can't find a comfortable grip, for me, at all . . . I just put it down to different strokes for different folks . . .  :-\

It is absolutely, 1000% random.


In fact, I am pretty sure it goes something like this:

All the 1st place prizes are sitting together.

All the 1st place prize winning boxes are given to the person doing the "Final" packing.

They grab the hilt nearest them, stuff it in the next box & seal it.  (This person would obviously have no clue who you are & what you own, even if they looked at the name.)


So yes - as they say - it is legitimately RANDOM what you get.  :)


(Unless you are Shade.  Then they just enjoy sending you Scorpions every time you win something.   :D )

Jed... I really like that extension piece on your Prophecy.  Not sure if I would want Diamond on that saber just because of the limited internal space of the hilt.  But it's a great way to solve the sound or color change dilemma.

It's a little weighty but not unmanageable. The grip section really overcomes that anyway. Dual Guardians in Guardian Blue. That'd go pretty cool with an Obi Wan cosplay. Obi Wan's alternate reality battle with Darth Maul   8)

Brother, that's a score and a half!  That's a nearly $500 lightsaber, depending on what options you have, that you got absolutely free.  Emerald, V4 sound, light up switch and nickel get you nearly there, without anything else.  If I'd opened the box and found that, I'd have crapped my pants.  No lie, I'd have straight up taken a dump right there.

Plus, you can now make a Guardian staff.  Double score!  ;D

I did crap my pants - I just hide it well on camera  ;D  Seriously, it is incredible, and I'm a HUGE fan of the Nickel Plating, too. The whole thing is an incredible gift. I mean the AV switch and nickel plating alone I had to pay extra for last Fall when I won the Grand Prize Guardian, and it didn't include Emerald, so to get those upgrades for free on a First Place Prize which includes EMERALD, too, is phenomenal.  :o   :o   :o   I don't know how they do it, but Ultrasabers never ceases to outdo themselves.  :)

Now, the Aeon has never been a saber I planned on buying.  It's not that I dislike it, it's just never spoken to me, overall.  BUT...getting this is fortuitous, since there's just what I need in terms of open space and just the right numbers of "bands" in the grip areas for what I have in mind for the Customization Challenge, so this is what I will be working on for that.  It is a good canvas for what I have in mind.

Question. We got an Aeon as our prize, but my friend wants to get sound installed. How do we do that? Where is that option on the website to send in a saber?

You would send US an email at [email protected] ... explain your situation and what you'd like done, and ask for their instructions on what they need you to do.  US reply will tell you everything you need, including costs, shipping ect.  Pretty simple and they're really helpful.

Hi.  You would have to email US at [email protected] and tell them what you want done in specific detail.  They in turn would approve of all your requests or perhaps some only.  Would let you know the cost of the conversion and how to make payment for this.  You would then consider if the charge to upgrade this Aeon v3 or v4 saber is worth it or just buy a new sound saber.  Don't forget to factor in shipping both ways.  :)


EDIT:  Haz and I made a reply at the exact same time including the seconds... but now mine has changed with this addition lol.  Like he said and Haz has first hand experience doing this.  :)
