Volume control for Obsidian Lite

I just got an Initiate LE v3 with Obsidian Lite, and I'm thus far quite pleased with the quality of both the sound and the sensors.  Unfortunately, the thing is a little on the loud side; not only does it overwhelm the Hasbro board hacked into my v2 Aeon, but it annoys my wife.    Of course, there's no software volume control for Obsidian Lite.  Does anybody have suggestions on things that might work to quiet it a little without otherwise messing up the sound?  I have a basic vented pommel.  One thought I had would be to switch to a Catalyst pommel and perhaps stuff some tissue or something in it; has anybody tried something like this, and if so, how well did it work?  (Obviously, if you tried this on one of the "full" Obsidian boards, that would still apply; I'm interested in any suggestions somebody cares to offer.)

I saw Emory once covered up the basic vented pommel with his hand in one of his videos, and it went completely silent. You could cover it with something that would wedge in the cavity or attach to the saber, and probably get the same experience.

There are pommels in the Build Your Own Lightsaber section with either no pommel vents or different vents that you could use to adjust the sound. I wouldn't recommend NO pommel vents when using the saber as that could possibly damage the speaker.

A really cheap fix would be to remove the pommel and stuff some cotton balls in there between the speaker and the pommel to buffer the noise a bit.

Just a follow-up...  I bought a Catalyst pommel, stuffed one Kleenex into it, and it made a drastic difference.  It no longer annoys my wife, startles my cat, or--most importantly, but don't tell my wife --overpowers the Hasbro board.  That, plus the Catalyst pommel looks great on the Initiate/Aeon v3, in my opinion.  So if you're having the same problem, I can recommend that solution.

There is no way to officially turn the volume down on the obsidian lite soundboard. that function is only available on the v3 and v4 soundboards.

As Old Bean Kenobi has said, getting a basic pommel without vents is not a good idea as it will cause damage to the speaker.

One idea you could try and is to use gaffer tape on the inside of the pommel to cover the vents. that may lower/remove the sound completely.

Also, if the volume is annoying your wife, maybe you could come to some arrangement where you use it for a set amount of time at certain times of the day or maybe go into a different room if you are able. If you are just practising spinning, maybe take the batteries out and just practice the moves without possibility of you accidentally turning it on.

Another option is to cut a circle out of black cardboard or card stock and insert it into the pommel behind the vents.  I do this with my Dominix for the same reason - to keep from annoying my wife.  :-)
