Not sure if this has been mentioned before. When I bought my first sabers I picked up a blade retention wrench, thinking it would be one size for saber. So when I bought my Chosen One I didn't opt for the blade retention wrench. Oblivously now I have it my hands I can see I need a different size one to remove the blade. Not much of a problem for me, I managed to find out which size I need to buy, I'll just have to wait a little longer to show it off.
My suggestion is to add a section to the blade retention wrench page when customising a saber saying which size wrench is needed for the different sabers. Allowing people to see if they would need to add the blade retention wrench to the order or if it's a size they already own.
Here's a less expensive, more practical solution. Go to your local hardware store and buy a package of Allen wrenches. They aren't expensive AND you'll have one for more than just your sabers.  |

Here's a less expensive, more practical solution. Go to your local hardware store and buy a package of Allen wrenches. They aren't expensive AND you'll have one for more than just your sabers. Totally agree. I got this set for $11 @ Home Depot and I highly recommend it. It's a long arm set which you need to reach some difficult places if you want to do something like take the blade off a Scorpion. IMPORTANT NOTE: For US, you need to buy the SAE type as pictured - NOT Metric (most places sell both). Emory ("Deep") has said here on the Forum that if you use Metric instead of SAE, you might strip the screw as the head types are different. And yeah - it turns out these have been pretty useful outside of Lightsabers; I've actually used them for a bunch of things already.  |

Yeah, I'm picking up a set the next I get paid. What I'm saying is I didn't realise I would need different size for different saber. When I bought my first saber I picked up the hex wrench to guarantee I would have one that fit. I already own a set hex wrenches, but the ones I own are metric and don't fit. I'm just saying a little heads up in buying process would be nice.
As for a laser pointer blade plug, I would think it would have to be some sort of MLS unit rather than a blade plug.

Agree. Though US does a great deal in putting out information, the hex head issue is lacking. |

I usually just don't quibble over a buck. I actually like the smaller wrench size, plus it ensures that I always have one on hand in various locations. I made a point of always ordering the wrench after I thought to (was guided by the Force) when I ordered my Chosen One. Now I have like 10 of the standard wrench.

More on the Allen Key topic. Out of curiosity I went to figure out what size my Aeon v3 takes.
Turns out it's 5/64".
Out of my pack of 14 SAE sizes it's the third smallest. In other words pretty darn small and probably easy to lose. It wouldn't hurt to have a couple extras lying around the house as others have said.
(You just have to decide if it's worth a buck on your US order or if you have a cheaper source at your local hardware store, assuming they sell individual sizes separately)

I just held on to the mentallity that is was far better to spend the extra buck and guarentee that I have the right size. But I also get mine sent directly to the office so I don't have to wait until I get home to play with I mean examine the goods.  |
