I had to sit this round out. I only have 4 so far and the only reason I have that many is one was a free initiate I got with summer deals and another was a friend's free initiate that I worked out a deal for. It seems from the most recent postings that more wives are slowly coming on board but someone has to have a clearer vision about the financial obligations and putting food on the table ( aside from Mac & Cheese ). We all come from different backgrounds, different occupations, countries and wide age range. Some have little disposable income, whereas others have more. It comes down to the economics we all find ourselves engaged in daily. Both my wife and I work. I have a retirement pension from the Army and I am 10 yrs away from my 2nd retirement. My girls are finishing college, working and moving on in life. They do not rely on me as much as before. Many on the forum have young families and their priorities are just that and rightfully so. For me, I have reached a point in life that is not as financially burdened than 20 yrs ago. It is much easier for me to acquire these wonderful sabers now, than it would have been 20 yrs ago. Priorities change as we all age and some of us are lucky enough in our youth to achieve greater economic status much earlier than most. hi guys so here are the photos of the saber I ordered GUARDIAN with sound and adegan silver with color discs (chose color discs because I really wanted yellow and the ability to change colors and I must say I was expecting it to be much more dim with the discs and its still quit bright) I love it. the great thing is they gave me a ton of discs which is awesome, cause I can really play around with the colors lolol when I made a pink blade my fiancée freaked out and said she wants one now .... lolol love it makes Christmas shopping a little easier this year. they also gave me a free button upgrade, I wanted to try to cut costs as the saber is pricey, (but worth every penny) so I went with the standard guarded switch and they gave me the silver non illuminated switch which looks just so cool. MY RAFFLE SABER: I love the raffle saber that I got for two reasons: 1) it just looks so cool and stream lined with that pommel, and 2) my first saber was the same hilt and now all I have to do is buy a coupler and I finally have the double bladed saber I always wanted ....talk about luck. THE SABER IS a standard issue battle saber v3, but man is it fully loaded.... its fire orange which looks totally mean and awesome, it has amazing sound, I don't know the difference between the sound boards so I couldn't tell you which version it is, it has flash on clash which I have never had on any of my other sabers, but will now be ordering on all my hilts, cause it looks so cool. and they added the catalyst pommel which is the nicest pommel for this saber in my opinion.....I cant believe I got this thing for free. the best part is that because my original battle saber v3 is red and the raffle v3 is orange all I have to do is add one of the red discs to the raffle v3 and I they are almost identical red so when I put them together with the coupler its just gonna look so awesome. You might want to look into Roscolux or Lee filter books. They are like the color disks only paper thin and come in a multitude of colors. You can get some really great yellows from the Rosco filters. Congrats on both your new additions! The Guardian is my favorite, currently. ;) So, your Raffle saber.....When igniting the saber hold the button down until you hear "Obsidian". Then, briefly push the switch again and if it changes to a new sound font, you have a V4. If not, you have a v3. Title: Re: as promised here is my raffle saber pics ...couldnt be happier wowowow Post by: Lord Canterbury on July 24, 2015, 08:38:41 PM HERE ARE THE PHOTOS OF MY RAFFLE WIN AND THE SABER I ORDERED (I was a second place winner) hi guys so here are the photos of the saber I ordered GUARDIAN with sound and adegan silver with color discs (chose color discs because I really wanted yellow and the ability to change colors and I must say I was expecting it to be much more dim with the discs and its still quit bright) I love it. the great thing is they gave me a ton of discs which is awesome, cause I can really play around with the colors lolol when I made a pink blade my fiancée freaked out and said she wants one now .... lolol love it makes Christmas shopping a little easier this year. they also gave me a free button upgrade, I wanted to try to cut costs as the saber is pricey, (but worth every penny) so I went with the standard guarded switch and they gave me the silver non illuminated switch which looks just so cool. MY RAFFLE SABER: I love the raffle saber that I got for two reasons: 1) it just looks so cool and stream lined with that pommel, and 2) my first saber was the same hilt and now all I have to do is buy a coupler and I finally have the double bladed saber I always wanted ....talk about luck. THE SABER IS a standard issue battle saber v3, but man is it fully loaded.... its fire orange which looks totally mean and awesome, it has amazing sound, I don't know the difference between the sound boards so I couldn't tell you which version it is, it has flash on clash which I have never had on any of my other sabers, but will now be ordering on all my hilts, cause it looks so cool. and they added the catalyst pommel which is the nicest pommel for this saber in my opinion.....I cant believe I got this thing for free. the best part is that because my original battle saber v3 is red and the raffle v3 is orange all I have to do is add one of the red discs to the raffle v3 and I they are almost identical red so when I put them together with the coupler its just gonna look so awesome. Congrats on your new Sabers! They look great. That's nice that you go the Catalyst pommel on your Standard Issue. I would say overall, that's my favorite pommel for most of the V3 / V4 type Sabers. And I'll do a review over the next couple of days with lots of photos. I've come up with a couple of cool custom colours already - a pale sky blue, and a sick looking toxic yellow. Bane's Heart is unbelievable in person so now I want that on any dark saber.

Photos with the blades lit were just not working this time for some reason. I couldn't even get close to any color on the blades and tried several different lighting situations. Probably my crappy phone. Edit: Got better pics! I tried one more thing and it worked. Here are all of my sabers, obtained in about one month. This is gonna be a bad habit for my budget. I see the covertec wheel on your Prophecy is mounted on the RIGHT (of the switch). Was that by request or it just came that way? Is there a hole on the other (LEFT) side? (I'm curious to see if US actually stocks Prophecies currently with the hole only pre-drilled on the right as opposed to the left). Some come with the covertec on the left and some come with it on the right. It is interesting to note that the two holes on the upper part of the hilt (one lets light shine through) are always on the opposite side of the covertec wheel. The SRD Dark Prophecy, is the color produced exclusively by the LED or is a greenish color disk used at the base of the blade? My SRD Dark Prophecy has the color disk. (Thats what Sheev said ::) ) Its loud as HELL, and one of my cats is terrified of the sounds it makes, but I love it. Might get a 40 inch blade to go with it in my next order.
My raffle prize is a Dominix LE v2 (I THINK.) in blue, very light weight, a little plain looking but will be great for customizing, definitely want to maybe get a shroud for it from somewhere. Emory told me at the time that the greenish color disk was routinely used for SRD, but that was probably just for the old LEDs prior to the release of the Emerald driver. It's a simple but really neat saber, and very confortable to handle too, really pleased with it!
And for my 2nd place prize..... AN AWESOME AZURE REAPER!!!!!! when i bought my 1st lightsabers, i almost pick this one up and i am very glad i've got this now, its so awesome, very confortable too. And now the little disappointement, i power it on and.... it's CG too... but i could always buy a new Led and switch it easyly or i could take the GB led from my free initiate LE V3 , i think it would look great with the azure finish too. It come standard with the covertech wheel which is nice, V3 sound and no FoC and i've got a green AV switch on this one too, but hey, as long as i did not get a black guard switch, i'm happy, i hate those lol. You would probably need to pry the switch out and cut the wires from the switch hole. Your LED should slide right out. That's what I did when I gutted a couple of stunts that I converted to sound. My sabers have arrived! Nothing quite like opening that cardboard box-o-sabers, am I right?!? My entry purchase was a Flamberge V2 with FO blades and BR FoC. The FO looks a little more yellow to my old eyes, but I'm not complaining one bitsy-witsy. I also got the black, non-illuminated AV switch and the v4 Obsidian board. I must say, I *REALLY* like the new v4 board! The Flamberge v2 hilt is kind of massive, even in my large-ish hands.. but I dig it! The 'Omen' style main body and pommel.. Mmmm.. Me likey. A Dark War Glaive, with 4-channel Emerald driver in Emerald Green with Obsidian V3 sound and recharge port. This is for the wife. Had Emerald existed at the time of my own saber purchase, I'd have opted for it. The ability to customize SO much just makes that a solid investment. No fooling with color gel inserts (gels being the theater term for the colored plastic sheets used to alter light pigments), no QDs - just plug in, tweak, unplug, go. I do wish they'd had the Silver claws available, as I do think it pops a bit more, but still, just as lovely a design as when I first purchased it. No Covertec wheel done here, as I've found that a simple D-Ring done through the pommel works just fine. (http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc468/ed_ification/IMG_0429_zpsecfjabzf.jpg) Next, our raffle prizes. I went with 2 Shock LEs - there's something about that aluminum and brass/gold combo that speaks to me - both in Violet Amethyst. The free Covertec ain't bad either. The color is lovely - a slight difference at the blade tips, with one saber a bit more pink than the other, but this is normal due to variances in LEDs. Both also have Obsidian sound present (You can get a saber sans sound, but for me, the sound is part of the experience, too). Why get 2 Shock LEs, you might ask? Hopefully this answers that question. I wasn't as intuitive with the obsidian V4 launcher as I thought I'd be. Meaning, I had to format(clean) the memory for both the Chosen One and Consular... >:( Now that I'm getting the hang of it I have fonts on them that are staples for me. The new emerald launcher is pretty easy out of the gates though. Instead of getting my Consular shipped in FO, the main blade was instead set to 100% amber. So that's what you see in the pic, I've since tweaked it to more a truer orange blade. Having amber on tap is fun!

I do very much enjoy my alternating buttons. Not often you see that on a Graflex. I think I am going to make you earn your Mentor title before I get my next Saber - which will 100% be the the Graflex. ;) I prefer the SE sabers myself. To me the Nickel plating doesn't look as good in person (I had a nickel plated Monarch once. Fantastic hilt, great design, sold it immediately.) Yeah the 2-tone metal effect is definitely what is holding me back from embracing the CE version. I still haven't actually seen a Nickel hilt in person but I do get the impression it's somewhat polarizing. People on here do seem to be "all in" or "all out". I think my biggest debate is to go with Tri-Blue - or a 2 channel Blue & Silver Driver. Jedi - sorta / kinda. Birthday / Christmas / etc. money through the end of the year. That's going to my next Saber. Probably during a Raffle unless there is something else too good to pass up! I Wish US did actual gift cards . . . That would be awesome! Graflex is definitely on my radar of future purchases as such an iconic Saber. From what you have said about the Silver activation box and band, that would definitely make me go for the SE. You want the disparate parts to match so that they look as if belong together. The same issue currently puts me off getting Blue or Crimson anodised Sabers, as it seems that different parts were anodised in different baths and thus slightly different shades. So it can happen, but I think rarely so. I think I saw a pic of a crimson reaper with slight off anodizing say a year ago. Very slight. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to buy a color anodized saber though. As I said, I think it's quite rare to happen.

I keep that one in another room where I don't see it as often, and I'd forgotten it appears to have an anodized nickel hilt with a more silver or chrome colored activation box sleeve.
