Sound not working

I have an old ultrasabers emerald driver lightsaber from the mid-2000s. I successfully changed the colour of the blade after buying new batteries but the sound then stopped working. I booted up the ultrasaber launcher and tried to reinstall the sounds - the sounds had cleared for some reason? but when it loaded to 99%, right before the even of teh write, the saber would disconnect. this has happen multiple time and I don't what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
