Wow...  I got into the last raffle and blanked, but I had saved up some $$$ and I bought my first Emerald saber to take advantage of the initiate give-away...  And now this????   Oy...

There might be a way....  Time to figure out exactly what I want with my staff configuration ... and what I'm willing to sacrifice for it...  ;-)

I have a staff configuration in mind that comes in right above $250, a stunt to let me work on new moves and spins and such that won't bother me near as much if I drop it as my Dark Menace staff would, with just a few upgrades.  But then I also have a whole passel of sound sabers that come in between 300-330 that I want.

So many decisions.

Might have to order the Consular I wanted early to enter the raffle.

Wow! Ultrasabers is giving a lot of lightsabers again. 3 events back to back to back! No words can describe such awesome sauce.  I just bought a dark sentinel with V4 Obsidian with the free initiate last April 7 and they shipped the order one day later, on the 8th. That is just amazing. They are already on their way, Yey! Scheduled to arrive within this week according to FEDex tracking. Woohoo!

Prowl is a prime reason why they haven't yet given us a Prophecy that can have both Emerald and Obsidian.  If he could have sound AND any color he wants on the fly, he wouldn't need to buy so many Prophecies, and he makes up roughly 75% of all Prophecy sales.

lol, it's been a looooong time since I had a first place prize, and I've never won the Emerald or Grand prizes, maybe one day though! I was extremely happy to see Haz, and Molina win them in the big raffle last summer!

As for me (Bane), I'm not sure (Bane) quite what hilt (Bane) I'll go for this time (Bane), but I get the feeling (Bane) that the Force will speak to me (Bane) and guide me appropriately.

I am trying to decide between a Bane or Phantasm Initiate V3 for this one.  The Guardian was in the mix too but it priced out too high.  

If Prowl gets another Prophecy, we need to stage an intervention. We can call it Prophecy's Anonymous or PA, if you prefer.

It's too soon for that.  We need to wait until he gets close to having one of each, in every color, in both stunt and sound setups. 

Unless I miscounted the colors that is something like 56 Prophecies.   :D

I think my entry will indeed be the Catalyst, James.  It looks like a great compliment to the Prophecy if I want to dual wield, might go good with my Initiate V3 with Catalyst pommel hilt too. Still debating what blade color to get, probably GB.

I keep going back to the Bane as well in my cue as a nice to have saber.  That lone set screw scares me a little as nearly all my research has led me to believe it might loosen when dueling?  I suppose if it's just for show and light swings around the house by yourself it would be fine right?

Actually, there's a method behind my madness - no really! ;)  

It's going to be a part of second cosplay, and that's not the pommel I'm using...dun, dun, dun...

I've been meaning to ask, how are you enjoying you're Shock?  Is it as comfortable and fun to spin as you thought it would be?  My Shock LE is the most comfortable saber I own for actually using/spinning (minus the covertech wheel.)


Now you have me curious, lots of pommels look good on a Prophecy, i wonder which one you are eyeing.

My Prophecy v3 (in Arctic Blue) has an Archon Classic pommel, most exquisite!

The Dark Prophecy v3 that I intend to get this time shall have .... a Scorpion pommel! With Tri-Cree Blazing Red. I have decided!  ;D

I, too, am not a fan of the idea of the open pommel on the Prophecy.  What are the general thoughts on the Archon or Malice Round pommels on it?  Does anyone have any photos of those setups?

I think the Archon pommel happens to look very nice on the Prophecy, I should be able to provide a few fresh pics tonight after work.

Deciding what to order is difficult. Torn at the moment between Bane with v4 sound, Bane with lite sound ($55 cheaper) or stunt Bane with an Initiate/Apprentice for our youngest (double the shipping, so falls in the middle, price-wise).

Hmm...

If I go for a Bane with sound, it'll be in Guardian Blue as it's the only colour (I think!) I don't have an LED unit with flash on clash setup on. If I go for the stunt option, it'll probably be orange, as I do love orange blades. I'd be tempted by Sentinel Yellow, but for some reason I can't see it working on that hilt.

Rule out lite sound. You want lithium batteries IMO.

Although, a sparring partner eh?

Neither lacking in partners nor blades for them :) But elder has her own, and younger is now old enough (just!) to have her own. I was going to order during the last giveaway, but younger keeps changing her mind about what her favourite colour is. I doubt she'd mind what colour it was, but it occurs to me that it might be wise to ensure it's sufficiently different from elder's that there's no arguments about confusing them...

...just arguments over who gets the old one, and who gets the new ::) At least until they turn around and gang up on me, anyway :D

Oh.  In that case Emerald with V4 sound.   :P

The Archon pommel, and the round Menace one seem to be popular. :)

That's a great choice. I have a consular with an emerald driver and set it to a specific green. It's easily one of my favorite lightsabers. I had been waiting for someone to make a Qui-Gon style saber, and US granted that wish.

That pommel looks fantastic, I must have one.  Does it change the balance that much?

I like my maul staff too, and you're right it's pretty Sith, but I've been wanting a red saber with some black on the hilt that's good for two handed dueling. I narrowed my decision down to the Bane and the Dark Arbiter, but since I already have a silver Arbiter, I decided on the Bane. I also ordered a normal Archon pommel to attach to it. The look I'm going for is what if Kyle Katarn went dark side. So this Bane is going to be inspired by Kyle Katarn's saber.

Damn seriously? I just ordered last night and I could have got a plug now? Dammit  >:(

Well, with Dark Prophecies being such a long wait to restock, I'm not 100% sure what I'll order on the 29th.  Perhaps one that I've had in mind for a little bit, but that's for a project that I'm keeping on the down low until it's done.   ;)

Or, maybe my "beater" Dark Apprentice stunt staff.

If I recall correctly, the Dark Prophecy v3 has been out of stock since January sometime. When I ordered my Prophecy v3 on January 21, the Dark Prophecy v3 was already out of stock then. That was twelve weeks ago. So by the end of this month, we should be heading towards the fifteen weeks mark if not already. I'm planning to get one as my raffle entry (plus plug perk).

Usually your prize ships with your order, although last time I saw orders that were shipped before the drawing.  The raffle information, from the forum announcement, email, and main site page all say that prizes are shipped with your winning entry.  This is one reason I tend to wait until the last few days of the raffle to enter, just so I don't have to wait as long for my entry (and so far, prizes) to arrive.

I cant wait to see who the lucky 95 people will be good luck everyone!

One thing I think I'm safe in guaranteeing:  there won't be 95 winners .... Every, and I mean EVERY raffle I have ever seen US do, Emory always ends up increasing the number of prizes.  The last one was the biggest I've seen, with the number being almost doubled.

And like Emory says, does he have to do this? No. He could just have normal 10% off sales, or FoC or sound discounted, or just the deal of the day.  But no.  He insists on giving away over 100 sabers (last raffle, probably be some obscene number like 150 or more this go) to his customers.  Doesn't matter if you've bought 30 sabers previously, or its your first purchase, he's giving you a chance to get a free one.  And while some are "just" grab bags, there are also ones with sound, Emerald sabers, and the top two tier prizes (of which there are now two chances of winning instead of one!!!!) of two sabers.... Seriously, how many other companies, in any type of business, do that for their customers?

Sorry, I really love the raffles (yes fine, I've won a prize in both that I entered), but it's really fun waiting to see who won, and what they got.  Two years ago (I think, might have been three) some of the prizes given out were the then new Aeon and Dominx v4's.  Last year one of the raffle prizes was a prototype Flamberge (this was when they were still on preorder only).  I've seen grab bag prizes that were amalgamations of three different sabers (emitter, body, pommel) go out.  Win or not (but I'd rather win), I'm excited to see what new is coming out or even what old they've modified for the fun of it.

I'm sure James will be pleased as well. I'm looking forward owning one.

I think folks will find the Catalyst to be a very comfortable hilt. It is light, symmetric, of the right size and elegant in design. Mine is in Deep Violet Amethyst.

I'm thinking of either going with the Catalyst or maybe a Dominix LE V4 in CG with V4 sound.  I just think that dark hilt with CG looks good and I don't have a solid CG saber yet.  But the Catalyst is so clean looking.  I'll have to make a tough choice.  Last raffle, I was planning on the Catalyst and ended up getting a Prophecy V3 and I am super happy with my order, but what if I went with the Catalyst... So many decisions to make.

Also looking to get a saber with sound for my brother.  I sent him some screenshots of a few hilts and the Manticore and Dark Arbiter seemed to stand out to him.  Any pros or cons for either of those hilts?  Any thoughts on colors?  He already has a stunt Dark Liberator in BR, so a different color is preferred.

Yeah, I was looking at basic hilts as I've been eyeing the Sentinel for a while now, and I've wanted to get a VA SI V3(like my V2, but with sound) for years. The Dominix/Aeon V4 is also looking really nice right about now as well....and if they DO have a May 4th sale, I'll see what the deal of the day is at that time. If it's something I like, then I could get a premium hilt for pretty cheap, so why not.

Those are some fine choices TJ and a skillful plan ... definitely something to look fwd too.  I managed to pull together the rest of my savings since the first spring raffle and the wheels are turning with this one.

I HAVE ENTERED THE RAFFLE - my entry was a Dark Initiate LE V4 in Dark Violet Amethyst, a Sentinel V4 in TRI Consular Green, and a grab bag saber, along with two couplers to make a staff that's got shorter blades and a long hilt, when combined with my GB Dark Initiate V4 and Yari extension.

My Archon V3.1 entry from the first raffle came in today, it's pretty awesome.  I do wish you could get it in a MG blade because the added weight of the HG blade makes the saber much harder for me to spin and I wish I had thought to ask them to cut the blade down a couple extra inches.  Nonetheless, I am very pleased with the saber, the Tri-Green makes up for the light only have the thin area to get through in the thin neck so the blade is still really bright.

They seem to be using new AV switches too, the one on my new Archon is slightly different from the AV switches on my other sabers.

The biggest difference to me is that the actual button doesn't have the point/dot in the middle and it's much more reflective.  You can see part of the camera reflected in the actual button on the second pic.

Only Ultrasabers knows for sure.  We can offer a good, educated guess for how many orders they had, in total, during that time frame, but can't tell how many orders qualified as entries.

Yeah, that's what I figured.  I would be handy to know this information.  I don't see any limits on entries so, while 95 prizes sounds great, if US gets 2000 orders the odds of winning go down vs say 200 orders where you have essentially a 50/50 chance of winning.  For myself at least I would like to know my odds before I jump on an order just to make the raffle deadline.   ;D

well, for the last raffle, the difference between the lowest winning order number and the highest winning order number is around 3400 ish? Of course, not all of the ones in between might have qualified for the raffle, but it highlight's that a lot of people must have entered..

Don't concern your time with odds, we'll never know enough for guessing. Enter to have some fun and take a chance, that's what it's about :)   Remember, either way you'd be getting a nice lightsaber that you paid for and the bonus is that you could win something.

Well, while the fun factor is relevant the reality is I might spend money with another company, build my own or get parts from US and/or others over time.  The raffle could motivate me to spend more money with US while the raffle is happening.  I think it's fair for US to publish some odds and numbers for us so we know what we are getting into right?   8)

Well, odds and numbers for this ongoing raffle are literally not possible to determine, since it is ongoing and the final odds are determined by the number of entries.  Similarly, the numbers from the last raffle are irrelevant and have no relation to the odds for this one.

You are looking way too much into it friend. If you want a lightsaber from ultrasabers, just order one and enter the raffle. If you are only thinking of getting one to enter the raffle and are going to be disappointed or mad if you don't win, then don't order one. Those of us who order sabers during these raffles are excited to be getting our entry, and if we win it's just a bonus. Being guaranteed to win a saber isn't what this is about; it's about adding another great lightsaber to our collection and maybe getting an extra too.

I'm getting ready to order a Dominix V4 LE with Obs Lite, SRD, FoC silver, 32" mid-grade blade, windows, Renegade LE small pommel and black non-lit AV switch.

I am actually flitting back and forth between SRD and Arctic Blue for the blade color, but SRD is the more likely choice.

This will go with my Aeon V4 LE with "reverse LE" coloring as a light/dark pairing. 

I'm thinking of getting a Catalyst for myself, as well as getting a second entry into the raffle.  Do any of you fine saber enthusiasts have a Catalyst with a covertec wheel and what are your thoughts on the placement of the wheel?

I'm back after a week away . . . . seeing lots of great raffle entries, quite a few Archon 3.1's . . . . good stuff  ;D


Any one ordered a Bane for their entry yet ? . . . . there was lots of talk about it earlier . . . all going well, I'll put an order down for one some time in the next few days . . . . woo hoo . . .  :D

The Bane looks right for another project I have in mind, further down the road.

So wait, do they not ship out raffle entries till the end of the raffle period? Or do they ship your orders normally and just ship the raffle winners separately at the end? First time entering the raffle (ordering a saber from US at that).

It varies . . . . usually they wait to ship till after the raffle, but not always, and especially if you live in the states where the shipping is cheapest they may send out an entry early and if that entry is a winner they'll then ship out the prize . . . for rest of the world entries they usually wait, but again not always, there have been several entries sent out to the UK prior to the raffle ending in the past and then some prizes sent after (if I recall correctly) . . . my guess is if you live somewhere with a higher shipping cost they'll hold the order till after the raffle draw . . . hope that helps . . .  :)

Then of course you've got the hilts entered that are on backorder . . . . several of the winning prizes from the last raffle have yet to go out because the entry hilt is not back in stock as yet . . . just ask Drahc & Prowl, lol . . .  ;)

Welp, my entry has shipped!  Never done one of these raffles before, I'd be pleased with winning just about anything tbh - tho a saber with sound would be sweet!

I am super excited, especially for the Dark Initiate V4, so I can make my modified Phantom Initiate staff!

Well, all saltiness aside, I made a second purchase to enter the raffle. A sentinel LE V4 with a premium sound and a coupler to make a double bladed saber with my first grab bag saber. Expensive mistake but one to not forget anytime soon, and ill be buying from ultra-sabers again and have already had friends and family make purchases.

Ever since I got my first saber I've been hooked, I've been fortunate enough to purchase a few sabers in the past couple months. The raffles definitely entice me more than just a regular purchase. Some people have other vices mine is ultrasabers.

My entry will be a Bane (assuming they don't sell out in the meantime!) but I'm waiting until the end of the week to order so I don't blow all of my savings in quite so short a period of time...

(I mean, sure, I could just not spend the money, but why else have I been saving up for the last eight months?)

Was +1 in force alignment a week ago now I'm -4....goooood let the hate flow through you. I was gonna get an Archon but was hesitant due to potentially dueling with it. It's a beautiful saber, has anyone dueled pretty hard with the latest Archon?

I couldn't duel with mine well, you have to get a heavy grade blade on it and the blade is pretty long since it only goes an inch or two into the emitter.  Granted, I am a smaller guy at 5'6 and really thin.  I find my V2.1 much better for dueling, I like my V3.1 as a showpiece.

I'm fond of it's big brother, the Dark Sentinel.  I have two of those, very comfortable to hold.

When I first started looking at Ultrasabers' product lineup, I didn't think I'd like any of the "lower" sabers...say, anything before the Prophecies, if you were to look through the list of sabers in the store.

But, I wanted to use an inexpensive hilt to test out the waters of a non-standard color (EG, in this case, and I'd planned to do similarly for other colors), so I bought a Dark Apprentice V4 LE, and I love the hilt.  Very comfortable, and aesthetically nicer than I'd thought, at first glance.  Now I have an Obsidian 4 sound equipped Sentinel, and want to get some more of both types of hilt.

I can vouch for the Apprentice as well. I love its design (especially the LE version), its choke is great, and it's a good length.

I think I'm gonna enter twice. I just want the Bellicose, but there ain't none. >:u

US says that the V3.1 is good for light-medium dueling, for heavy dueling you should go with the V2.1 - which is also a magnificent saber I must say :)

The Prophecies are OOS too - ordered one anyway.  ::)

JAC I've got to agree with Prowl & Slim (Oohh, finally scratched that itch  ;)) . . . The Apprentice is really nice, although for me I need a bigger pommel on the Initiate / Apprentice hilts . . . and Dauntless Seven's recent example of the LE with the Shock LE pommel looks stunning . . . That'd be a great choice . . . What colour blade you think ? . . . I say go with SITH RED >:D

I also like having a larger pommel on the Initiate/apprentice hilts.  D7's with the Shock LE pommel does indeed look really awesome.  I keep a Catalyst pommel on my Initiate V3, fits perfectly.

The Raven and coupler is for my brother, he's making a staff. For now one side Raven, other dark sentinel le he's excited. As am I got so many idea for that grab bag!

You could single hand a Manticore if your hands are on the large size. It's a pretty big hilt and it doesn't have a choke point. I have small hands so use both.

People can either give you light side points or dark side points, if you look off to the side under a person's avatar.  Usually they're given because the giver just likes what the receiver posted.  There isn't, unfortunately, a way to tell how many points you've been given overall, just what the balance of light side vs dark side points given is.  Many folks will put something in their signature line indicating what type they prefer to receive.

Force alignment is whether you prefer to be awarded dark or light side points by your fellow forum members. Are you Sith or Jedi?

Some of us have never stated a preference, and have just let the chips fall where they may.  Eventually, though, enough of a balance one way or the other builds up and people just award you more of what you already have showing.

I quite like it. It looks quite elegant in nickle finish and those windows just top it off. There are not many sabers out there with that many windows that size around the emitter. It resembles the Menace but yet different.

I had a very long debate between SRD, AS (to filter to SY) and AB.  I finally settled on SRD, I like the color combination with this hilt and I can match it with my Emerald Aeon for staff work.  I generally use the Aeon for single-hilt dueling and cosplay, and it spends most of its time in SY, so this is a "counter-point" to the reverse-LE hilt.

I am really hoping this is the one, as this will probably be my last raffle. I have no need for more hilts and so no reason to buy more.  Hoping for something nice to cap off the experience.  :-)  But even if nothing comes, I love these things and I will eventually be back.  There will be grandchildren one day to purchase for, after all!  :-)

I have had some good times with my daughters (and bruises, too) already.  My older daughter has an Initiate V3 and a Liberator V3 both in Violet Amethyst.  She uses the Initiate as a shoto and duels two-handed.  My younger daughter has an Aeon V2 LE in GB and a dark initiate V3 also in GB.  She is mainly a single-blade dueler right now but her older sister has been training her to begin using the shoto techniques she has learned.

My own hilt of choice is an Aeon V4 "reverse" LE with an Archon classic pommel in SY. (usually)  I will also have (after this order comes) a Dominix V4 LE in SRD.  I have had other blades in the past, Guardian, Domimix V3, Dark Initiate V4 to name a few, but I tend to shed the ones I don't grab down and use.  I use the Aeon.  I will use the Dominix and I have a vented coupler to make them into a staff, which I will also use.

Karmack those are tough words to hear ... I read into this as you're a minimalist in this case and if a hilt doesn't serve a purpose it has no home with you. Not that you don't like to collect things though.

There are some I default to for fighting, and others that serve the same function but are almost small treasures. I go almost a year between purchases so it feels pretty fresh each time I buy a new one. Each hilt has it's own story and I take on a different persona with them.

Yes . . . . I remember when I first joined the forum the Bane had been out of stock for a year or more, and I was all set to order one when it came back before TFA but I missed that boat, had other (Graflex & Shock) plans, lol . . . . From what I've seen the Bane is long, but not too heavy, and I'm really looking forward to swapping out some LED modules to see it in different colours too, but really excited about GB . . . .

I'm sure James will fix that when his comes in.  His reviews are a piece of art, elegant and detailed.

I would like to point out the Manticore CE nickle version I have is a magnet for fingerprints. So all the more reason to give it the care it deserves.  ;)

My sister gifted me a saberstaff with the ultraegdge. So since I'm going with purple this time, I'm going with the ultraegdge as well. My others are the mid and heavy grade regular non film blades.

I needed to get at least one non red saber as I am now teaching panels at conventions with  little kids. So I need to be a jedi from time to time.

I prefer that one too.  I only remembered because I ordered my first saber around the same time.  I saw one of the silver looking mid grade blades at a con and it just isn't for me.  Glad to see your collections taken off as well.

Ok guys, I *loosely* discussed it with the wife and I'm in for my second raffle!
Didn't have luck on my side the first time around so we'll see how I do now!

I managed to get the shipping down to a few bucks with the reward points I had, and someone in my family threw me $100 for my birthday so I've only had to fork out 250 for this one. (From Australia)

When you use your points you don't get to earn more, which I hate.  I paid near $400 for my guardian and used my points on it and got nothing for it.  Not making that mistake again, I'm saving the points for small purchases.

I used the points I had amassed on my latest order as well, but added an emitter and pommel.  I see it as one was free. :)

Unfortunately they don't have the emitter I wanted in stock.  What was your raffle entry again?
