Best way to shorten a saber blade?

Hi cujoe_da_man,

Before you use a saw on your blade you might want to consider using a plumbers C-Clamp 1 inch pipe cutter. It scores a line around the blade and you rotate it. After a couple of turns you tighten the clamp cutter slightly and keep repeating until the blade is cut through. This method leaves a nice clean finish and you don't get lots of dust and shards.

You can pick up these cutters at hardware/plumbing stores or online.

Also see if you can pick up a piece of dowel rod that will slide down inside the blade and diffusion film to keep it straight and neat as you remove it.

Thanks for the input, I wasn't sure if a pipe cutter would work being it was a softer material than PVC, have had to do some plumbing myself.  I like the idea of a dowel rod to cut the paper, I'll give that a try
